I had the same problem with the studs on my vortec heads and contacted ARP with some measurements and they had some 1 off studs in their bins from a custom job that met my needs. Very expensive though.

How much is very expensive? Is relative to the price of studs.

I believe it would have cost a couple thousand dollars. Give them a call 1 800 826 3045

Ugghh, I was thinking it was similiar to cost drilling and retapping the hole for english sized studs it might be worthwhile.

You could have the heads drilled and tapped to install the BBC studs they were talking about earlier. I believe they are a little longer.

Just use the washers and be done with it.

Done, its back together with 3-4 turns on each polylock now.

I think this will be just fine.

ARP tech support was less than helpful regarding questions about running a spacer instead of a guideplate etc.
their advice was to have the heads drilled for the V8 studs and buy new rockers that weren't 3/8".
Uhm ok, I'll get right on that.

Looks like we might just be winching the truck on the trailer and finishing it in the lot on Thursday night.
