I have an issue with my truck that just started after upgrading to get ready for a 20 G turbo install. Prior to this the truck has never been mucked with. No mods whatsoever, 1 owner vehicle. Last week I upgraded the fuel pump to a Racetronix 255lph with Racetronix wire harness, 60 lbs injectors and adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well as turbo tweak chip. I know the injectors are too much for the stock turbo so I dialed down the idle fuel trim 1 notch open the turbo tweak chip until I get the turbo installed.
My issue started this morning when the truck turned off for no reason as I was driving. I pulled over tried to crank it and no start. I waited a couple minutes and fired right up. I drove it a while and no issues. I went for a cruise later in the evening and after about an hour of driving again it turned off while driving. I popped the hood open and I noticed the fuel pressure gauge wasn't registering any pressure. I disconnected the power wire of the Racetronix wire harness connected to the battery and reconnect it and the pressure went up again. I started the truck and the pressure started to drop again immediately and the truck stalled. It did this several times with the same result. After several tries I waited another couple of minutes and it started again and I drove home with no issues. I don't know why it started working as I didn't change anything. I checked the ground on the fuel pump wire harness and it seems good. I don't see any fuel leaks either. I am stumped as to what it could be. I noticed I was running high fuel pressure around 50 lbs and I turned it down to 43 lbs with vacuum off when I got home. I am stumped as to what it could be.
Something else I noticed is that the turn signals including hazards were intermittently not working for some reason, never experienced this before today as well. Don't know if this has any relation but I want to relay as much information as possible.
