Has anyone run a stock crankshaft above 6,000 RPM's regularly without any problems? I'm trying to build a good roadrace Ty and need to be able to accelerate out of different speed corners. This means I need a broader hp range, or more gears. As usual I'm trying to do this on a budget, so a billet steel crank is out of the picture.
From what I'm told the RPM's are more of an issue than the boost pressure. The plan is to keep the recipricating weight to a minimum, and use a 4bolt bowtie block to keep the crank from moving around too much, and not to go above 20-25psi.
Does anyone have experiance with a similar combonation??
How high do most on you rev them?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
