Still no truck

I thought I had worked out a fair deal on a low mile Sy.I haven't heard from the owner in 12 days or his relative who was supposed to call me last week to discuss paperwork and hopefully to arrange a plane trip to pick up the truck. I'm beginning to get a little concerned re this truck. The owner and truck had lots of good feedback on this forum. Am I just not getting the hint? We had a verbal agreement that I would buy the truck as long as it was as described. I'm sure it's a busy time for everyone right now I just would like a little reassurance from time to time. I found another truck with slightly higher miles but less money however, I've given my word on this truck. Several of you know this truck. What should I do? Thanks,,, Ross(waiting patiently)

Edit your post and just ask if anyone knows where the person is. That way maybe someone can fill in the gaps and knowone feels they are being questioned as a seller. Have you tried PM'ing them on here?

Sorry, I'm not questioning anyone. I just don't know what to do about this truck. The seller is out of the country which I'm sure complicates this. I know everyone gets busy this times of year also. Like I stated I tried emailing, and I don't have a phone number. I have his relatives number(he was supposed to call me) but the "ball" is in their court so I don't know If I should call him or keep waiting. How long am I obligated to wait before I look for another truck? I want "this" truck but I'm worried something has fell through? :(

Well, it is a crazy time of the year. Things move slowly. I too am dealing with a transaction that is taking much longer than I'd like, but I'm trying to stay cautiously optimistic. Did you send a deposit?

If the deal falls through, you should know there seems to be many nice Syclones for sale right now (see sig)...so it's really a buyer's market.

Good luck!

I would think at least 24 hours to give the seller time to respond. Some folks don't care one way or the other whether a vehicle sells so the buyer has to prod the seller a bit but 12 days without a peep????? Might be time to buy another one from a stateside seller and, as previously stated, there are plenty out there at excellent prices right now.....winter is the BEST time to buy!!

Re: Still no truck

no deposit(I offered) He said my word would be good enough. There are some really good deals on low mile Syclones right now ;) I may break down and call Pedro's brother-in-law who is handling the truck. Confused :(

Get his number so you dont need to work with his cousin. You never know his cousin might want it for himself.

X2... I would get his number and deal directly with him. He may actually be selling the truck for less and the cousin could be bumping the price up to grab some cash. My $0.02.

Re: Still no truck

Pedro set the price. I've talked with him several times just not in the last month. He's in brazil so he said it would be much cheaper for him to call me. The price seems very fair for the mileage. Hopefully he will call me tomorrow and we can arrange my flight for next week. Long distance relationships are a challenge ;) Thanks,,,,, Ross

Re: Still no truck

I've given up on #1917. My emails haven't been returned in a week and the calls I'm supposed to receive never occur(last one was supposed to be 4 days ago). There are no hard feelings on my part. I wouldn't want to sell the truck either :( I will keep looking for a low mile(stock) truck. Thanks to everyone who's helped so far with truck descriptions and information. Ross

 Ross, let's talk. This is a nice truck that has not been beaten upon. Why pay 15k for a questionable truck, when mine (a known truck) can be had for less? I promise to answer your emails promptly. ;)

Re: Still no truck

Baythays Syclone is beautiful! but I really don't want to go more than 35K miles(actually 25K but I'll stretch it a little). I'm supposed to talk to a man in Indiana this weekend about his 35K truck. But,,,,,,you never know ;) I know I should really go by "condition" but I'm hung up on a sub 30k truck. Ross

Re: Still no truck

heh, 25 - 35 - 44k.. all are below 50k in miles..

all are considered low milage trucks.. the lower the milage the higher the price..

baythan's truck is very nice, and it has been featured in GMHTP which should add a tiny little bit of value to it.. eitherway, its your decision.

Re: Still no truck

The difference between 30K and 35K is 2 oil changes.

If you are going to drive it - I'd opt for one with a known history. If you are going to buy it and store it - I'd get one with lower than 10K miles.

Re: Still no truck

That may be the nicest/newest looking Syclone I have ever seen! WOW!!! The miles are too low, wouldn't have it :rotf: (actually can't afford it but I'll blame it on the super low mileage ;) ). Seriously, that is one nice Syclone  Ross
