are there any trick techniques to help pass st. insp.? just came back and failed my CO or CO2. supposed to be about 1.2ish and i had 1.76. replaced everything from cat. converter( high capacity) to full tune up which includes O2, plugs(ngk R), cap n rotor, fuel system tune up w/fuel filter and i only run chevron 93 octane. new gas cap to say the least. i have pulled a code 34(map sensor too low) my snap on scanner tells me to replace the map~and from that code 34 i also received a code 21(tps sensor circuit high). so every once in a while i get a stumble. i unplug both for a few minutes and problems go away for a day or 2. should i replace the map and try to redo the st. insp. i think i have a 3 bar map? where can i get a brand new one? the reason i think i have a 3 bar is that the '92 ty is chipped with supposedly vortech heads, cam, larger turbo blah blah blah. in my oppinion it's heavily modded. much more upgrades i'm not listing. not braggin' either. daily driver so i need it fixed. can you guys please help?

Lots of mods and an off the shelf chip will equal exactly what you have.

Custom tune either by yourself or by someone you trust.

Ontario's emissions is fairly tough and I recently failed on the CO2 and hydrocarbons with my van (425k) wonder why? Original cat on it and it was throwing a service engine soon code. Run a full tank of the highest octane you can get your hands on, even add some boost, thru' it and then find a shop that is willing to test the truck "hot". They let my van run at about 2500rpm for about 10-12 minutes before hooking it up and it passed with flying colors. Easy and cheap fix if it works for you. My poor Caravan didn't know what to do with 115 octane in it LOL

Re: state inspection help?

Over here Ive had manny cars (not turbo cars) that was close on CO2 inspections we have allvays delutet the gas with alkohol (meth or eth) to a 10% or more and that seems to make the CO2 values to go down could bee a fast solution to make..

Re: state inspection help?

theres a few texas guys here, do you have a stock chip and stock injectors to instally to test with? you would also need a 2 bar

That chip DID have an emission setting, you could try it. I suspect without a custom chip/tune you will still have issues and problems. Most of the time throwing a bunch of parts off a shelf into a pile doesn't work 100% and something suffers. Performance and emissions is one thing that almost always does.

Re: state inspection help?

What injectors do you have? If they are 50# ers I have a chip here that passed DE emissions with flying colors. Using Code 59 now so I dont really need it. PM me if interested. At the time, I had an ultimate setup that wasnt even close to passing and no matter what setting I put it on, it would never go closed loop.

negatory. bought it as i described it to you. except i was the one who did maintenance on it. i had installed the march 3 piece pulley set but noticed a slight draw from charging and decided to remove. still have in garage somewhere.

"do you have a stock chip and stock injectors to instally to test with? "

which reminds me i also have, i think, 50lb. injectors they are green

Re: state inspection help?

would timing have something to do with my issue? was going to check the timing, but i don't know what it is at and don't know where it should be. on my snap on scanner>idle was at 41 degrees if that tells you anything? :dunno:

when i first bought the ty~in the crappy condition it was in~i could get to 19psi boost>now after taking care of it i can only get to 12psi for a sec. then drops to a steady 11psi. if that tells you anything?

i know i don't belong here w/you guys because of the knowledge or lack of, but i thought if any1 could help...
