Sportmachines Owner/Truck Database

Greetings,

We just finished converting the Truck/Owner list on Sportmachines to a
true database.

We are now tracking more information than ever.

In an effort to maintain the history of these trucks, please help us
fill in any information that is missing. The better documentation we
have on these trucks, the more value they retain.

We will also be using the build sheets from GM to help fill in as much
information as we possible can.

http://www.sportmachines.com/members/truck.php

There are currently 383 trucks and 342 owners in the online database.
Marty has around 2000 trucks in his offline database, so we will be
looking into adding those also.

Thanks,

Rick "Opie" Waller

Dunno if this helps or not but Syclone number 1956 was purchased by me from Don Gentile a few years ago (~3 years ago). I sold it to a fellow in PA off the buick board and he has since resold it. Dunno who owns it now.

Truck was stock except for a KB FPR, three gauge pod, and had ~99k miles on it when I sold it.

HTH..

Ian, you've got a great DB, and unless they are able to show pictures, I still like yours better. However, their's have some fine points also.

Keep them both.

Best Regards,

Be careful, you'll get blasted for waisting bandwidth
I got blasted by some dick on the LIST for being dumb enough not to read the REST of it  I wish they knew how they sounded when they do stuff like that then waist even more telling everyone how bad I was for doing it. No wonder I like the board so much.
Anyway They are reading over the submitted info and then putting it in manually so some idiot can't use the database for ill willed purposes of any sort. I submitted info yesterday and it still isn't up. Just takes time when they do it right

Questions

Questions

Who is the admin of the db?
Just curious if we could add some more search functionality to it.
Also Morgan you out there? Didn't you have a bunch of vin's and owners info. maybe between the info that everyone has we could create a central database.
Here's a few suggestions I would like to see...
Searchable by State
Searchable by color.
Also the ability to only allow other owners to have access to e-mail addy's.
I am sure there could be more suggestions from others..
Anywho just a few suggestions, if you need any help let me know my speciality is databases...

Hey Rick, I tried to add my info on my Sy but it says the owner is Rick Bippus. What's up with that? I tried to create a transaction to change ownership to me but it did not work. Can you correct it for me? Thanks.

Ian,

I completely agree with you on needing to consolidate. I don't know which one to go with though.

There's a lot of info that we want to get into the datebase. Some of the info on the build sheets, the info that Marty has, the info that Merk has.

I don't want to duplicate efforts either. Catch me on AIM some time, so we can figure out a plan of attack here.

All else: If there are any errors or corrections that need to be done, email them to me:

opie@sportmachines.com

All entries will be in a holding cue until I check them and approve them. Then they will be viewable by the public.

If the database on Sportmachines stays, I will be adding support for pictures and full searching capabilities.

I also recently added the capability to track previous owners.

Thanks for all your support.
