Speedometer jumping?

Noticed this ever since I finished the truck, but didn't think about it until now... since I am doing homework at 1230 am these kind of things come to me  . My speedometer bounces under acceleration.... a lot... like, 30 - 70 and back, until I settle down to a steady speed, then it slowly bounces it way back to the right place. Any idea what could be causing that?

You have ignition issues.
Could be bad plugs, wires, cap and rotor are usual suspects.
Get some NGK's and some good wires to go with a brass cap and rotor.

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition mod, coil, all have about 1000 miles on them. It's been doing that since the day I put the motor back in.

Any paticular DRAC wire to check or just fiddle with them all?

Alright, I will check that when I get home next weekend.
Glad to hear it isn' t the ignition, hate to have to spend $$$ on that since I'm going to be getting the individual coils to work hopefully pretty soon.

Re: Speedometer jumping?

This is an old post, but I am having a similar issue. Wondering if you got around to fixing it.

I haven't noticed it anywhere near as much after the last time I r&r'd the engine, I think it must have been a loose ground in the ECM harness.
