ok so i just bought my sy a few months ago and the speedo and odo were not working. I finally crawled under my dash and found the DRAC was not connected. I connected the DRAC and the needle on my speed is reading way off!!!! it reads 20MPH when im going 5MPH and 40MPH and 50MPH when im going 60MPH. does the DRAC need to be recalibrated or is this more serious than that? Thanks

Re: speedo problems

drac's are a dime a dozen at the boneyard. replace it and see if it's still screwed up. make sure you get one from a GU6 truck. IE 3.42's. otherwise it will be off.

Check your grounds. Mine was showing 20mph setting still. All better now.

Re: speedo problems

I connected the black wire on the DRAC harness directly to my battery ground and it still does the same thing. but even when the ground is not connected the speedo still sits at like 40mph. but whats even more weird is when I connect and dis connect the ground a couple of times while the truck is running, the needle slowly moves back to zero. ever heard of that?

Re: speedo problems

Nope, the odometer is stuck at 30,XXX miles and the trip and speedo do not work either. everything else in the instrument panel works just fine just the speedo, odometer, and trip.
