Spanked by 2000 LS1 Camaro

Pulled up behind a new navy blue SS Camaro at a left turn stoplight. I had followed this kid around for a few blocks because he was gettin on it every now and then and it sounded pretty mean.

Anyway, the light turned green and he took off. I stayed with him and as soon as we made the turn I got into the right lane and hit it. As soon as he saw me take off, he hit it as well. I stayed at his bumper up until about 60, but it sounded like he wasn't a very good shifter.

He slowly started pulling, but once we got up to about 100 mph he started pulling hard. I knew I didn't stand a chance against an LS1 up top, but I just wanted to see how bad it would be :wink: He probably ended up with a couple buslengths on me. :lol:

I flicked my brights at him and he pulled off into a neighborhood. I told him he had a sweet car and asked him what was done to it. I'm pretty familiar with LS1s, and it sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about. I think it was his dad's car.

Anyway he said it had Lingenfelter upgrades - intake/exhaust, port/polished heads, bored out, and he said it had "a driveshaft and camshaft". Just sounded weird for him to say it that way. I really don't think he had a clue what was done to it. Plus I'm pretty sure an LS1 with those mods would have beaten me a lot worse than that.

Anyway, hopefully I catch him again because I'm pretty confident I can take him from a stop. He'd probably miss a shift tryin to catch me too.

Well if i remember correctly, this Thread name is SyTy kills. So I expect SyTy Kills! I understand if your a syty owner and you spanked a extreme in your minivan, but for a non syty owner to come on and say they beat a 200 ls1 and dont even post their vehicle?

LOL Rob, are you talking about my tangle with the Extreme in my Blue Bus (similar to the short bus for those of you that didn't have short blue buses growing up)....

First of all - sorry I didn't post my vehicle. I have a 1992 GMC Typhoon. You know, those little turbo V6s that GM only made for a couple of years? They are these little AWD trucks that were capable of running 13s bone stock. They had 280 hp and 360 lbs/ft torque from the factory. Yeah, well I have one of those. You see, if I had an S-10 Extreme and I beat a minivan, logic would tell me to either go to the minivan boards or the S-10 Extreme boards to post my kill. I usually don't go to PeugotForums to post my kills either, since I don't own a Peugot.

Secondly, I don't remember ever saying that I beat a 2000 LS1. I think my post was pretty clear. Doesn't the title say "Spanked by a 2000 LS1"? Anyway, if you'll just read this part of the story again:

You'll see that I was behind him from the beginning and he pulled me even worse above 100 mph. That would make sense since these Typhoons are trucks and aren't very aerodynamic. Now if you'll read this part of the story:

If you think about it, it would be difficult for me to flick my brights at him if I was actually beating him.

Now since this is a Syclone/Typhoon website, I think this would make it obvious that I was saying I think my vehicle (a 1992 GMC Typhoon) could take him from a standstill. If I had an S-10 Extreme, I would be a moron to think I could beat an LS1 from a stop, even if he was spinning. Since I am lightly modded, and just ran a 13.5 at the track Sunday, I definitely like my chances against him from a dig. I've seen many LS1 drivers at the track run some crappy times because they didn't know what they were doing, and I don't believe this kid knew what he was doing.

You didn't say you owned a Typhoon, you didn't say you beat him driving your typhoon. I'm not used to seeing you post, so i couldn't assume what you were driving. Yes I made the mistake saying you won the race but that was not the point. Try putting your info in your sig so people know just a little more about your posts. Helps clear these things up :wink:

Yeah I know, what the f*ck am I thinking with that screen name? I made it just before I bought my Typhoon. I should really go back and change it.....oh wait, the mods told me I'm stuck with it.

Yeah nobody on this website uses random avatars. :roll: I should definitely be able to depict what type of car you drive by your avatar, it says that in the syty.net rules.

You've got an avatar of a cartoon black guy driving some sort of station wagon. That must be a picture of you, but if it's not, you should change it so we can tell what you really drive. :roll: And maybe you should change your screenname too, so we don't think you're some little b*tch junior high saggy pants wearing skater dude who doesn't even have a license to drive a Syclone or a Typhoon in the first place. :roll:
