:dropjaw: that's awesome being wrapped in leather but why the tan vs a black or something that goes color wise with the truck a little more ... if I may?

I'm glad I'm not the only 1 on here though wrapping trucks in leather .... seems like a classy upgrade to plastic ANY day :2cents:.

You're being tight lipped on that dash you're doing man
I like the change though so far. Keep being creative & innovative with it

A black interior would disapear in the truck. Thus the reason for the tan. We may put a little black in it to darken the lower part.

yep - dash is a secret and it's cost a small fortune to do.

Good Afternoon All,

The snow at Tracy's shop has been brutal and since there has never been a
deadline on the truck I told him Family first and get to the truck when he has time.

2009_12_26_Recovery_Room_3417.jpg

There are not many resources for good quality parts for truck owners.
So far LMC Truck has been a life saver they seem to have every part that we have been unable to find for this build.

Instead of Tracy making a headliner from Scratch I contacted LMC truck and ordered one of there ABS Headliners.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cst/full.aspx?Page=111

I originally ordered the headliner in black but as some of you know the interior color has changed.
Tracy removed the black material and prepped it for the new fabric.

It make life better when you start with a quality part.

2009_12_02_Recovery_Room_3206.jpg

Tracy & Jimmy recovered the headliner with the material that matches the interiors leather

2009_12_02_Recovery_Room_3211.jpg

Installed in the truck - You can start to get a feel for what the interior is going to look like once complete.

2009_12_13_Recovery_Room_IMG_3262.jpg

In order to make the dash look finished it was important to add a glove box door.
This will also help us if we need to get to the MSD box or the Big Stuff 3 ignition.

Good Morning All,

This post is dedicated to our good friend Dave 'Myclone".

Way back Dave said to me that he wanted to ride along in my truck once it was complete.
Unfortunately that will never happen Dave lost his life while under one of his trucks.

He was in a hurry and didn't properly set the vehicle on jack stands.
So please be careful when your working on your cars and safety first - ALWAYS !!!

2009_12_18_Recovery_Room_3333_2.jpg

Kenny, Tracy & I all agreed the seats needed a little modification.

2009_12_28_Recovery_Room_IMG_3433.jpg

Close up view of the modified seat.

2009_12_28_Recovery_Room_IMG_3434.jpg

Not to worry Guys there will be a headrest.
Tracy made up this little templete and sent it over to Ron @ WMC Design.

2009_12_29_Recovery_Room_3444.jpg

It's unfortunate that Dave won't be able to be my passenger.
But I will always remember him and know that he is riding next to me when I am driving the truck.

this truck is awesome...along the same lines as my truck except 100 times more badass. Alot of work and $ is going into this thing.

You gonna bring it to the shows this year (i.e. Hot Rod Power Tour, Slamology)? I would love to see it in person if its completed by then.

Good Morning All,

As you know the seats have been cut down.
In order to protect my brain bucket we came up with these innovative Headrest brackets.
Tracy made a cardboard template and shipped them to Ron at Wilson Muscle cars.

www.wilsonmusclecars.com

2009_12_29_Recovery_Room_3444.jpg

Ron took it to the next level and created the CAD files needed to actually create the brackets
both for the headrest and the roll cage.

Dennis over at High Speed Welding made the roll cage brackets for us.

and Finally TJ over at IMI Manufacturing in Bolingbrook, IL cut the final brackets.
e-mail: imimanufacturing@att.net

2010_02_15_Hi_Speed_IMI_005.jpg

It took a real group effort to make these things and I can't wait to see how Tracy & Jimmy finish these off.

2010_02_15_Hi_Speed_IMI_024.jpg

I almost forgot - The UPS Driver that came back to pick these up at my shop so we I could get these to Tracy.

03-22-10 Update - Dude it's Done !!!

Good Morning All,

Tracy & Jimmy finished the Interior a couple weeks ago, I just haven't had time to post pictures.
I will do my best to post a bunch of pictures this week.

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3666.jpg

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3667.jpg

Tracy wanted to move some of Autometer Gauges out of the original Dash Surround.
Big difference the new dash surround houses 5 vs. the Original one that held 9.

2010_02_11_Recovery_Room_3683_2.jpg

The Finished Product - much cleaner looking.

I like the back lighting on the guages. Where are the rest of them going? or did you decide to ditch'em?

Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

Good Evening All,

Sorry this post is so late.
My goal is to post every Mon & Thursday till you see the finished product.

Lets start from the beginning

2009_08_19_Josh_Mishler_48_001.jpg

Dave @ Comp Fabrication built the entire dash out of sheetmetal.

As you can see from the above picture we needed the extra space.
We lost a bunch of real estate when the firewall was moved back.

2009_09_24_Recovery_Room_2858_001.jpg

The dash mimics the Factory dash almost exactly.

2009_09_24_Recovery_Room_2859.jpg

Yet to install was the glove box - Not to worry that is where the interior guy's do there magic.

2009_12_13_Recovery_Room_3266.jpg

Making room for the Autometer gauges they removed from the Dash Surround.

2010_02_08_Recovery_Room_3650.jpg

New Home - right under the Vintage Air controls.

2010_02_08_Recovery_Room_3651.jpg

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3665.jpg

Laying the material.

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3671.jpg

Stepping up the details on the dash with some trim.

2010_02_11_Recovery_Room_3696_2.jpg

Two more Autometer gauges in place.

2010_02_12_Recovery_Room_3690.jpg

see ya next week - have a great weekend.

Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

Good Morning All,

So what do you do when you have a good looking center console that no longer fits the quality of the build and the future interior.
You tell the guys at Recovery Room Interiors to have at it and let them see what they can come up with.

Taking everyone way back to the beginning.
This is what we started with.

2002_02_06_00.jpg

When we started building the Interior at Comp Fab it was important to the project that
we maintain the factory center consule that was specific to the Syclone, Typhoon & Sonoma GT's.

2006_03_23_014.jpg

First version of the Interior was really nice and we all thought the factory door panels were a little weak.

2007_03_03_003.jpg

Starting with a clean slate -- the idea's started flying.

2008_08_26_Josh_24.jpg

Not sure how the color changed to tan, I think I lost the coin toss with Kenny & Tracy.

2009_11_29_Recovery_Room_3177.jpg

This is what we handed Tracy & Jimmy and said make it work.

2010_02_05_Recoery_Room_3638.jpg

If you can remember back to the last post some of the gauges came out of the dash surround which means
they need to find a new home in the center consule.

2010_02_05_Recoery_Room_3645.jpg

Recovering the stock consule might sound like an easy task.
I assure you it takes time and skill to get stitches to line up this nice.

Did I mention that laying the leather this tight and smooth is also a talent?

2010_02_08_Recovery_Room_3652.jpg

Finished gauge pod or should I say almost finished.

2010_02_09_Recovery_Room_3659.jpg

Not sure if you remember this original dull black shifter surround.
It's amazing what a little color can do.

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3660.jpg

Details - Simple Pin Punched material adds texture to the interior.

2010_02_10_Recovery_Room_3673.jpg

Autometer Gauges Installed.
More Details - Once again we made the call to Wilson Muscle Car and had them cut us some Billet Syborg Emblems.
