Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

i just read through this entire thread
and its done many things for me
most of which are get me pumped to get working on my gt
but has helped give me some damn good ideas to use
the only thing i dont like is the v6 stuff
mostly because of the way my pappy raised me
and i dont know as much about that shizat as i do about
v8's and classic car shat
but thats one damn nice truck
you should come up to minnesota and catch out rebel rods 4th of july car show some time

V6 stuff is slow as hell..
i really think it's different to make a twin turbo V6..to bad there isn't as much aftermarket support on those v6's compared to v8's...so you gotta pay, or do alot of work yourselve.
 to marty and his slow ass v6 :p

12-11-05 Update.

Working on a new fuel cell.
Looks like we are going to use the external pumps that I have.
One on each side of the tank meeting in the middle at a "Y" block.

The tank will sit between the new frame rails which is two inches narrower then the old tank ;-(

2005_12_11_019.jpg

In order to get a little more fuel capacity the tank is built around a frame support.

Here is what the tank looks like removed from the truck

sweet!! I'm sure you know this Marty, but make sure they install the pump on rubber anti vibration mounts or they will sound like mine does....loud!!.... :D I got in a hurry and didn't use them but I kinda like how it sounds to tell you the truth.......must have grown on me.... :)

edit: Also, some people think twice before racing me when they hear my loud fuel pump...

They have been yet another awesome company to work with.
I also need to thank Jack at Rad Rides for ordering these wheels for me. He is also another stand up guy.
