Okay did a little more playing yesterday. I decided to recess the qauges a full 2" to get that OE look. I am thinking that the 3 larger quages are will be 1/2" off the panel and the smaller one's will be 1/4" off the panel.

What ya think ??

Marty looking real good! I check the progress weekly and, as mentioned previously this is by far one of the nicest projects I've seen come together. I know you do not cut corners or spare expense and, it shows. This thing is SICK and I can't wait to see it up close and personal once it is finished. However long that may take.

...Mr M.

Is there a reason why your not considering the following in your dash layout?
-turn signals/flashers
-radar "stealth" prevention/alerting
-on board video (front and/or rear), since you can adjust your "slamming"
-remote control of mirrors, or compas/temp layout
-and whether or not you`ll have electric or manual windows/rear window

In other words, as a touring vehicle (with twin-turbos, custom suspension
and designer one-off fabrication), is the interior "minimal" in your design plans,
or is it allowed to be customized as well (with billet, electronics, and hi-tech
convenience items like gps, etc). Will you be able to "tweak" your boost,
engine management system, or suspension from inside the "cockpit"
with laptop/plug in capabilities.

Just curious

Actually also in the cluster surround will be indicator & high beam LED. We are also going to put in a Just In Case LED (low oil pressure). The dash/radio area will most likely have a DVD navigation - still working on the sponsor for the sound sytem (running low on money - lol).

Most likly won't put a radar detector in the truck as i don't really drive fast :rotf:

As alway's Larry i appreciate your idea's and suggestions so please help me and give me more idea's of things you've seen.

I did speak with Tom at Hydro Illusions today and we bounced some idea's back and forth and he know's what i am trying to acheive. I may have someone do a rendering on the dash for me so i can get a better vision of what it will look like.

Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

...Howdy,

Realizing that everyone has different tastes on dashes (retro, modern, stockish,
Hot Rod-ish, Airplane-ish, Boat-ish, Motorcycle-ish, etc), and different styles
(carbon fiber, chrome/stainless, padded/painted, two-tone, escalade-ish, etc)
I`m a bit partial to using your outside color scheme inside as well. Below
might give you some hints using the old muscle-car theme. This might/might
not be helpful tho...(image the ole `62 bubble top, or a 60-ish Dodge with push button
tranny dash updated to today`s look). Just delete if this is too "off base"...<grin>
(I thought Foose`s `57 chevy dash in the Napa S10 was great & different).
But then I realize its not for everyone...-Larry

Good Morning All,

Meet with Bob Thrash today and talked about finishing the Rendering of the Interior.
I hope to have some new drawings in two weeks. He's busy painting graphics on the Cuda

Okay back to the regularly scheduled update

Here is the Final layout for the Dash.
I am flying down to Florida to meet with Doc at www.docskustom.com they are going to make me a billet
panel to mount the gauges in. Those guy's down there have been a great help and i really look forward to working with them.

2006_05_26_054.jpg

Here's the start of new Mount for the Front Support. We want to make the front cover easy to remove.

2006_05_26_055.jpg

It will be slip shaft mounted so i can remove it when i need to get it on a trailer

2006_05_26_064.jpg

Okay don't freek out here - Yep it's a prototype front support (no Brackets)

Wastegates are plumbed back into the downpipes.

Just a quick shot to show how well thought out the Billet Specialties Serp Set up is.
Note the A/C lines go down and away vs. straight out.

2006_05_26_070.jpg

Dave removed 1" of this pipe to make everything even up front.

2006_05_26_071.jpg

Okay here is the last picture of the wiper kit - this is where the shaft needs to come out.
You can also see that we are going to fix the A pillar bodyline to match the fenders.

2006_05_26_067.jpg

That's it for this week. Our goals this week is to get the entire exhaust welded.
I should have at least one more update this week.http://www.sportmachines.com/albums/69-Baracuda/2006_05_26_001.jpg

I'm guessing another 9-12 months?

Everything about your truck is a peice of techno artwork.

[definition of "techno artwork", a well thought out, well engineered, well executed part that's sole purpose for existance is to remind me how crappy my Sy really is]

SUPER NICE!!!

ps, WTF have you done to that "Cuda"?

The Dash Surround is complete and i couldn't be happier.

I want to thank Doc one last time for taking such good care of me. As promised he stayed late and cranked out the dash overnight. I would of had pictures sooner but i was in the Magic Kingdom spending more money then should be allowed.
