Yea I had big big issues acquiring "what I wanted". I did land a set of rare burgundy, or I call them maroon drivers. they are expensive. I also got some matching pry bars in the maroon color. there was a guy on ebay selling shit out his ass. he must of had 200 thousand in screwdrivers. i tried getting a set or 2 and like you said they shot up to way more than what i wanted to pay. i contacted him and basically he said he never met anyone like me so perticular so he gave me what i wanted for the price i wanted. I still have him on my ebay he sells 5 items each week making bank. I even told him i was looking for a LONG screwdrive and for free he gave me a 36 inch cabinet driver black handle and a small, brite orange pocket one- everyone always bitches and moans at me about snap on this snap on that, i like nice things. Oh and the dude did include the tray i will find out if hes selling anything right now when im done-

just checked hes still around- no items now most likely tomorrow he runs them for 5 days

Re: some spare snap on tools

I have a wide variety of Snap On, Mac Tools and Craftsman. Personally don't see the difference between any but the price. Even the lifetime replacement Gear Wrench brand with rachet box ends I bought at Sears last spring are holding up real well. So is there a "hidden" benefit with Snap-On?

They did replace a set of ball-bearing rails on my 60" 14 year old cabinet without cost and shipped them to my door for free as well but that's a different item than a hand tool (and a whole bunch more $$).

COO is the big one mac, craftsman and matco are moving overseas some faster than others. Tooth count the sl80 is a long 80 tooth ratchet none of those companies make one, there is a difference if you use them alot the way they feel in your hand and such, certain things there isnt a need for the more expensive stuff , (smaller size sockets), but certain things like screwdrivers and ratchets theres a difference

You are lucky then. My common sizes on the gear wrench ratcheting ends (10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm) lasted about a year and now the only way to get them to work is to literally smash the ratcheting end against the concrete hoping to break loose the internal problem.

I need to warranty return them, but I was V E R Y disappointed in them. Its not limited to the style with the loosen / tighten switch; I have a set of the flex-head style that only ratchet in one direction, and those failed very quickly as well.

For sockets, extensions, and standard wrenches, I've found craftsman to be sufficient (although the boxed end on a snap on is thinner walled, to get into tight areas). I find craftsman REALLY falls on its face hard with ratchets, SCREWDRIVERS, and pliers.

craftsman screwdrivers the std handle clear one are made by western forge, the professional ones are great, next time you warranty they ask if you can upgrade some stores will allow it, the new craftsman plierrs some are made by Knipex
