SoGT engine swap

I recently talked to a mechanic that told me I could fit the chevy 327 i had sitting around into the sonoma GT so I have decided to have him do it ,after finding out the engine in the GT was cracked I thought of finding another block but since I have this spare engine sitting around I thought it might be fun to have it in this little truck. tell me what you guys think, have any of you accomplished putting an engine of this size in a truck like this and is there anything I should be worried about. here is a pic of the engine in there now, its a shame the engine block is cracked... thanks for any info in advance. :D

s10s with v8s are fun.. but traction is always an issue..

I had a 350 in a std cab short bed s10 before I had my ty/sy.. it was a blast to drive.

as for installion they make motor mounts, and the only banging youll have to do is on the passenger side firewall, just to get the exhaust down and out.

Re: SoGT engine swap

id keep te 4.3

ive had 5 of these trucks with V8's and the numberr one issue you have is overheating.

its a bit*h to have a date with you, be stopped in traffic, and watching the temp gauge rising steadly.

the other thing is your always under the hood adjusting the carb, and a million other things that go wrong.

so do what you want, but remember,.... you will be spending alot of money on the little "details " of the conversion.

When you say over heating , can't this be fixed by replacing the 4.3's radiator with a bigger more efficient one?

thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind.

www.v8s10.com should offer some solutions. Get some good electric fans, and the corvette radiator moved forward and hopefully you wont have any issues with overtemp....

my v8 s10 was done alright, I never had a problem with it overheating.. of course I never really drove it legally on the road.
