everytime i browse these boards I see so many signatures with all these toys listed... some of you guys have a sy and a ty, some have a syty and a GN or a lightning... some have even more than that!

im just wondering what you guys do that you can afford so many cool toys, plus a house and a family... i gotta know where i went wrong...

someone once told me, 'do what you love, and the money will come'...

im a supply manager for ESP guitar company (we make guitars for metallica, slayer etc), and i can barely afford car insurance... maybe i need to leave california where its not $1525 a month for a decent 1 bedroom apartment. :roll:

Work at Printing Services for Publix Supermarkets, Inc, Fortune 500 Company.

I did database managment in a program called MediaBank for all of Publix's assests including pictures, documentation, and printed jobs. Sat there and named all the pics and files and added searchable metadata. Basically, like explorer on steroids. Millions of dollars of pics and info at my finger tips :)

Just got promoted from that to doing Preflight work for Ads for the stores. I help build, fix and send out all advertisments that show up in the stores for sales, coupons, etc etc. Also add in fixing all the stuff that the artists should know how to do in graphics, but dont.

Also do digital image preparation in color correction and scanning for every single image that comes through that will eventually be printed.


Working on learning about digital plate setting, and flexography print.


All day long its Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark, Dreamweaver, BarCode Pro, LeapFTP, MediaBank, Excel, Acrobat 6 on steriods for print, and dealing with why PCs are good, and MACs suck.



Side work I do webpages with Ian.... mess around with fiberglass and carbon fiber.

Not sure what I do.. but I spend most of my day at home and sometimes I do nothing but play video games. Dayum... whatever it is, I must be good at it. 8)

i'm right now a college student.. worked throughout hs and landed a very nice part time job my junior year doing IT work for a small local biz that taught me to change my major from computer science and stuck there around 2 years.

Now im going to school to become a pharmacist.

pharmacist... man, best of luck, i know that isnt easy :)

have a good friend who is one...he makes some serious bank, only after some serious schooling though.

I remeber one of his tests.... 1 question that gave a situation on dispersing medication, 3 correct answers to choose from. You needed to pick the most correct answer that fit the situation. Answer wrong, you fail....and possibly kill the person you just gave the medication to :eek:

Right now Im a college student, and I work full time. 13 credit hours, and 42 work hours, needless to say I stay pretty busy :eek:

Im 19 and have been working full time since my freshman year of high school (made me grow up kinda quick) at an RV dealership, which is where Ive learned nearly all of my mechanics skills working in the shop. Now I work in the office and do that kind of stuff, kinda boring sometimes, but at least Im out of the grease and sewage :eek:

Sothis, I think your job would be the shit!, but your rent would own me :eek:

I cut aluminum all day on a vertical mill, mostly cast tool and jig as well as 6061 making precision thermoforming molds for some big companies. Been there less than a year after quiting my old job of eight plus years. I'm not laughing all the way to the bank but, it pays the bills...

I get to travel to all the nice shitholes on this little globe and keep people from going "BOOM".

The wife is also in and since we have no kids its basically "Double Income No Kids" or wastey money on truckey while the wife plays wastey money on hobbies, on top of living in our free housie. :D

I bought my Sy with my initial reenlistment bonus payment and for 4 more years I get almost three grand each January to use as I see fit and since I bought the truck.....yay for parts and stuff.

i'm an apprentice to a professional makeup artist / hair dresser. You wouldn't believe how many shampooing techniques there are. I dunno how long i'll last in this field, but I just couldn't take my last job anymore. I used to be a ride operator for a travelling carnival. I can't stand the stupid tilt-a-whirl anymore.
