its not illegal to mod bikes in Indiana, im not a pro rider by any means, but a decent rider will tear most of these trucks up in a race. there are a few exceptions if you are talking about robert's truck or a similar build, but my 636 has ran 10.20's with me on it, that was 2 years ago ago with only a sprocket change and strapping the bikes front suspension a little. I dont remeber what the 60 ft times were but that was yanking the front thru the 1st gear and a half. Who races 60ft only anyway? Not that i trying to call BS on your win, just stating performance of sport bikes is unbelievable these days.

Best thing to do is race your (street bike)at the track again & look at you 60 ft times.

The disscussion is about Sy/Ty's 60 ft against Motorcycles 60 ft times.
anytime you want to race your stock 636 ,not straped down bike against my Sy 60ft ,,,let me know.
Sure sport bike performace is unbelievable these days, but there 60ft times are not really any better, bikes are lighter shorter wheelbase, (prone to wheelie!!!)

You must be a pro rider running a 10.20 not calling that BS, but motorcylcle times for that bike are not 10.20. only one guy got in the 9's but that is a factory rider with bike setup for drag only.

Most places ,,you cannot open your bike up for 10.20 seconds, so yes , many people race just from stoplight to stoplight,or just a few hundred feet, too dangerous, too much traffic, so, in short, people do race more 60 ft races or a little longer on the street than a full 1/4 mile on the street. :2cents:

I have no problem believing a street bike would lose to a Ty or Sy outta the hole. Me on the other hand can only play with bikes up top. And I still can't mess with anything over 750cc if the rider knows what he's doing. I can take 600's though with the bottle (puts me around 500rwhp and weigh 3400lbs with me). But this is from about 70-130/140 where I pull because of aerodynamics. When dealing with bikes I always go by the saying "you beat the rider not the bike".

Where these bikes are really "faster" is after the roll-out. Generally speaking, one of three things will occur on a launch with a bike.....either the rider weights the front to hold it down and ends up spinning the rear, feathers the clutch out of the hole with high rpm's and wheelie's when it gets full friction (and most panic and shut it down) OR does a snap roll-on once safely launched and loses out of the hole but quickly gains the lost space back. Take any one of those possibilities and, like you said, a AWD turbo-charged automatic is gonna toast a street bike off the line. Advantage = Syclone....everytime!!!

x2

Also with the advancements with slipper clutches, it more easy( then you think) to see a bike roll 1.50 60 fts. Also this is never going to end it's comparing Apples to Oranges never going to be settled.

Oh and about the original post yeah its BS BS BS 60 ft runs are what ? maybe 6 car lengths at most ? how can you really smoke anything at that distance ??????? even if you went 1.20 in the 60 and someone went 1.90 thats what maybe a car and a half in 60ft. and that time is a huge difference so................................. I guess the real question is whats you deff. of smoking someone in the 60 ft ? :2cents:

Actually i've seen plenty of new 600's run low 10's high 9 times. As for only one person doing it and on a bike set up for drag racing only, i have that magazine, all they did was a one tooth down sprocket and strap the bike and maybe a power commander (cant remember that or not), my bike has that said 1 tooth sprocket on the back and a 3 tooth bigger one on the back. And yes it is a wheelie machine, i set it up that way for after going to the StarBoyz Stun School.

And the discuss was about racing bikes period, or with girls on it, you changed it to 60ft comparison. And for that less than 2 sec race, OUR trucks have 4 pulling and boost, my bike has one pulling and one hanging in the sky, no boost, even if you get me oout of the hole, i'll be passing you with a stylish wheelie!

If you have a low mid to low 10sec SYTY then maybe i wont pass you, but then we are talking a heavily modded SYTY agaist a slightly modded 636cc bike, my buddy has a lowered boosted busa, if you want to compare heavily modded to heavily modded. Still apples and oranges tho. I would bet on it against ANY SYTY.

Being that i own one of these trucks i realize that we have an advantage of launching hard against most other vehicles, and it seems like that is all some people want to talk about, where their vehicle is superior to anothers, and that is normal mine is better than yours BS, everybody does it from time to time, so i will now. I challenge any SYTY to a wheelie competion against my 636 :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

There are plenty of places around here to open up bikes and SYTYs, Why would i race stop light to stop light? if all i wanted to do was ride a quick wheelie followed by a stoppie than i would just go stunt'n and stunt'n is way safer than street racing, esp stop light to stop light

This is unbelieveable... You guys are arguing about aples and oranges. FACT the avaeage street rider on a sportbike SUCKS... especially at a launch... I have been around bikes for a long time...

A Syclones 60 foot is awesome, the average sportbike rider is afraid to flip thier bike. They are scaredto give it a little throttle off the line, top of 1st and anywhere in 2nd on up its WOT but 1st rom a dig??? They suck. SyTy would win 90% of the time. That is only for the 1st 60 feet or so... After that the Syclone may as well be a Geo Metro racing a Corvette.

My 2 cents...

There are A LOT of bikes around here. Ive raced many of them. I cant say that I ever beat one a full 1/4 mile, with the exception of Harleys and Choppers. My point wasnt to start all this but that there were some hot chicks riding together and was having some fun with them. Everytime I post a kill all this has to follow, I dont get it. :dunno: eh...carry on people :popcorn2:

Nice article, i love that magazine. Im not trying to argue here, just voicing my opinion. I agree with what i believe was a major point of that article, whether its stunters or other groups, people tend to look at the unfamiliar group is a diff manner than there own, I try to mingle with all kinds of diff people and groups, and there is always drama between them, whether its mustang guys vs Buicks, or stunters vs soccer moms, people are scared of what they dont understand or know.

Pass me on the highway on a bike doing a buck fifty and i wouldnt even think of dialing 911, because it could easily be me. But if i see a soccer mom driving a big suv putting on her makeup and talking on the phone and smoking with the kids in the car, damn sure i'll voice my opinion, to me that is way more dangerous than snatching up some wheelies. :2cents:
