truck smokes when i start it up after its been sitting for a little bit. it will puff out some white with a little blue tint to it. but it doesnt smoke when im driving or even when im getting on it. could it be the valve seals or something else? i just bought it so i dont no the history of the truck so well

valve seals, not something that is detremental to the engine, just a little annoying and embarrasing, might foul your plugs a bit sooner, just an excuse to get in there and upgrade to vortec heads, good luck

Your turbo might be tired too. take the big hose off the front of the turbo and see if the impeller inside moves from front to back at all. you shouldnt have any play(maybe a ""ass-hair"") If you hear a click when u check it, ya need a rebuild, or a PTE.. eh!

Valve seals - very common. I would guess turbo smoke would be all the time - but I could be mistaken.

i took a look at the turbo and it has some play when i push up and down on it . but i was also would think it would be smokeing all the time even at idle. but who nows untill i try changing one thing at a time

well im not sure on how much play there is supposed to be up and down :roll: but i do know u shouldnt have much, if any, front to back(no clicking). maybe its a combo of both Does it do the james bond smoke screen when your at WOT and then slam the brakes?
