Site Update Please...

SyTy.net is running vBulletin 3.0.6 and the newest version available for download is 3.6.4. Is there any admin left that visits the site? Can someone do an upgrade?

I wanted to post an event on the calendat but the software is so outdated it doesnt even have 2007 listed as an option! lol

The new version has some new awesome features. If you licence expired then Im sure we can collect the $85 for a leased licence or maybe even the $160 needed for an owned licence and never worry about it again.

the new version will pay for itself as you can do contribution subscriptions through the forum and never worry about having to set it up or do anything throughthe admincp. Its all automated and the money goes directly into your account!! MANY benefits!!

If you guys need help let me know... Im always on and I admin a bunch of sites anyway. Some larger some smaller.

I've been thinking about this recently. But I'm afraid that some of the hacks we've added might get broken.
I'll do an upgrade on a test server and see what happens. :)

Ohhh hacks... hacks suck with an upgrade. I have been looking and alot of the older version hacks werent available at 1st but slowly they are coming around.

If you want help finding some on vb.org let me know. Ill help you search for some upgraded hacks.

I have never seen an admin here, I guess its because it doesnt say admin under the name... Hmm... maybe I should read who the forum leaders are lol

I dont ever have any free time... Im always too busy posting on truck forums, working on my trucks, working on my websites and talking about trucks. If you removed the trucks & internet I would have a ton of free time! lol

Look below... there is advertisements already :)

I started at the bottome as well on my site. I was making from $4-$7 a day! it was AWESOME!!! Then I added one to the top. I still got the $2-$7 per day PLUS the top made me an additional $20-$30 PER DAY!! No joke! November made me a bunch off Google banners alone!! crazy...

Thats all... my speach is over... just trying to pass along some helpful information.

It has nothing to do with the software being "outdated", it simply has to do with not changing the year range of the calander, which took all of 5 seconds for me to fix!!!!!!

Edit:

oh yeah I forgot to mention, it doesnt matter because registered users cannot add or change events on the calendar anyway ;)

What's your site? I run another site and i litered it with google ads. I didn't want to do the same here so that's why we only have it at the bottom of posts.
I did fall off the face of the earth for some reasons. Had a baby, moved into a new house and if I visit the site to much i start to spend to much $$ on stuff. So far i've been good but as soon as i tear into my truck it's going to be all over..

I know you werent complaining and I thank you for bringing it to my attention, I didnt realize 2007 wasnt available on there.

I believe we are running 3.6.4 over on S10Forum.com, but other than Administrator/Moderator tools, I really didnt see many new perks, but I also wasnt looking for them

If Keith wants to play around with an upgrade on another server thats cool, I know there are ways to import certain hacks too.

Here are a couple awesome feature...
- when you take the URL of an image and pop it into the reply window it shows up right there without showing the vB code. Smilies too.
- There is a multiple quote feature where you can click buttons by all the posts you want to reply to and reply to 10 people in one post without working.
There are a bunch of cool little things like that.

Thanks for taking this for what it is a suggestion/constructive critisism... not bashing.

Im just about to move our local S10 forum from one server/domain to a new server/ domain name.... fun fun

you can do that on this version already, just go to your control panel and select Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor Toolbar instead of the Standard Toolbar.

Thats a pretty cool feature, I always just did it manually but it would probably help out others a lot.

no problem, as long as Keith wants to do the backend work on it then its all good. Keith does all the backend/server work, I make things look pretty, install hacks and deal with the everyday BS

Re: Site Update Please...

another benefit....

there is an option within the program for donations which when completed via PayPal automaticly moved the user to the contributor usergroup for the selected amount of time. And its all done automaticly. The list of features you get with the donation is also listed and you know exactly what you get. This gets you more people donating as well!
