Should I repaint Aspen TY 767?

Re: Should I repaint Aspen TY 767?

save your money, 4-5k in paint is a heavy investment on a truck you are just going to sell. and the fact that its such a niche market you might be sitting on the truck for a while especially if the price of the truck has to cover the paint job.

It would be nice to see an aspen looking 100% fresh but if your just going to sell it i would save your money.

and the fact that my friend and I can paint I would have a hard time paying for a truck that had been repainted knowing that I could have done a complete bare shell paintjob for the cost of materials and my time invested.

Yup

So I am thinking I will most likely go ahead paint the new Aspen and color match the clading, I love the look of T-bones truck and think if I ever did decide to sell it that would be a awesome color combo.

If it were my truck, I'd repaint it the original colors. :2cents:

Don't paint it. Just trade it to me for my Omni, and be done with it. Please.

Take the advice here, don't paint it. At most, paint the cladding, but leave the aspen alone. To me it is worth more or more desirable with original paint as well. I would like to see some pics of this thing, maybe that will help us help you decide.

Lot of Tag-Haters I see.

How difficult is it going to be to match the paint to the current color of the truck if you decide to just paint those?

Told you I have a 99.9% sure buyer for the Ty without repaint required but that is up to you. Doubt Graydon will buy it if it gets repainted.

Personally, i would rather see a "driver quality" original paint car than a perfect repaint, but thats just me.

wrap it man! it' might be even cheaper and you remain the factory paint and keep it from scratches/sunburn etc. might even hold the cladding together :D

My Ty has been repainted and it doesn't bother me at all. What makes them rare (the fact that GM had issues with the color) also means that most aspen Ty's have been repained already. One with factory paint is going to be very rare but the odds are that the paint will be peeling off or look like crap.

I would keep it the factory color combo. :2cents:

My other Aspen was painted way back in the day too.

Agree with the others, keep it original paint and sell it as is. My Ty's paint isn't perfect by any means, but it is original and very presentable! Just paint the cladding all argent and be done with it.

If it was mine and keeping it, I would repaint it. But if your going to sell it, the future buyer would probably want to see it in it's original state.

There might be 6 or 8 Aspens that are all original with no miles. 4 that were only registered and maybe some still on MSO :dunno: :D
