Re: Shell Wanted!

I have a MINT 1993 Typhoon shell with frame and a clean title ready for purchase. If you find any rust on it, I will give it to you for free. Otherwise, it will be $750 and you come get it. Nothing illegal about doing it this way :).

Re: Shell Wanted!

you do know thats illegal

????????. So in your opinion, it is illegal to drop a LS1 drivetrain in a Sy/Ty? If you blow your motor, can you go to a salvage yard and replace it with another, or is that illegal too? Unless you know something I don't about the OP, I don't see anything illegal in his request.

Re: Shell Wanted!

its illegal to move a cab from a syclone onto another body and use the VIN from the syclone, swapping motors is legal, as long as the VIN number from the donor motor is recorded, also in some states the vehicle could be re-vined as a assembled vehicle because one on the major VIN Id components are replaced. Its called VIN fraud and yes the government does prosecute for it, There is a petrson from ney york sentencened to 40 years for it. The ty shell you are selling under federal law should get a Assembled vehicle title because the major components of the vehicle are missing technically. Also its illegal to remove a VIN tag from a vehicle, or posses the rivets to attach a VIN tag to a vehicle

From his post, I thought he wanted to swap a motor into the shell...not put the shell on his truck frame. Maybe I mis-understood his intent.

I've heard about this and it certainly makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
