shaved rear windows?

Re: shaved rear windows?

makes sense for it to be done that way considering what the truck was used for. no way i would do it to a ty though, just because it is a ty. now if youre wanting to do it to an old jimmy or blazer yeah go for it i think you could make it look okay, but i definetly wouldnt put the ty cladding on it. you could always paint it flat black and go for the old 50's panel cruiser/rat rod look. that might look pretty tight. :2cents:

I don't have an opinion on whether or not to do it. It's your truck. When I finally get around to stripping the paint on mine and finding out just how much rust damage there is below the quarter windows (paint is bubbling), I may consider it myself.

However, if you DO decide to do it, I recommend doing it so the outline of the window remains visible, rather than the 'slab-sided' treatment done on the Kenwood truck. I know, some folks will say that makes it look like the window was just painted over. But I feel the truck NEEDS that surface modulation. The outline shape of the rear window is the most graceful styling feature of the 1st gen S-blazer. No other SUV has ever gotten that "B pillar" shape right like the S-blazer did. Research many of the nicest factory sedan-delivery vehicles, and you will see the window outline is still there. Highlight it with the right pinstriping or graphics, and I think it will be very nice. Sure, the purist in me struggles with doing this to a Ty, but I think I could get over it.

I will keep that body line if I do this but I will have pleanty of time to think about it while i do other stuff to it first.
