Selling my SRT10.......buying a...

I just got in my personal property taxes in today. That is it.......my SRT10 is gone. It costs 1000 a year in taxes. My insurance is 1700 a year. I like the truck just not that much. The dame thing just cost too much. Too much to own. Too much to modify. :(

I have always wanted a syclone. It is hard to find a good one though and at the right price. I have found one here and have been working it out for the last few months. This will be my second attempt to own a syty. My first attempt was a big piece of crap. It was a ty wantabe. It was the 85 blazer on sportmachines. The damn thing broke down after driving it around the block. It later caught on fire.

Welcome. SRT's are nice. Fast truck for its size. If dodge would only make an awd one. I would sugest having someone who knows our trucks to look at it for you. Or buy one from here if possible. I had a 2003 hemi ram and loved it but the insurance killed me too. I now pay 450$ a year through AAA for full coverage on my SY. And Yes its insured for a SY not a S10. Replacement is only 14k but I might up that after all my mods are done. Again, welcome and good luck.

Truckless. For now.

If you're willing to travel or have one shipped, Austin's might be the one you're looking for. His for sale thread is HERE . It has 39,401 or somewhere thereabouts and is a sweet looking, mostly stock truck with a few of the reliability mods done.

But I guess it also depends on your price range.

Thanks for the plug. I guess you beat me too it. The still has 39,401 miles on it, but it should be getting a few more over the weekend (assuming the weather is nice  )

I'm kinda suprised you insurance is so low on the SRT though. How many miles do you put on it? Do you have another daily driver?

I hardly drive the thing. I haven't even put on 3000 miles since I had it. I bought it in nov of last year. It is my weekend car. I have a work truck I drive m-f. It is a fun truck even if it is a big fat pig. Everyone and their mother want to race. It just costs me over 600 a month to keep it. Not worth it to me.

If you have another driver, you should consider Sneed auto insurance...I don't know if a SRT-10 is considered a speical or collectable car, but sytys are and you can insure the vehicle for what you want it to be worth...look them up online...just something to consider before you sell.

I'm not really looking for a mint truck. I wanted something I could modify alittle and not feel bad about it. I already found one in the area. It needs alittle work but nothing major. The price was right too. I'm hoping to have it in my driveway by next weekend. I'm hoping to take it to next year's nationals.

Does it really cost that much to own a SRT10? I was considering selling my Ty and putting a DP on a used SRT 10 2-door, "considering"

Re: Selling my SRT10.......buying a...

I paid about 30k for it. My payments are about 460 a month. After insurance and personal property tax it is over 600 a month. Forget about any mods for it. They really expensive. 10k for a twin turbo setup. That is just for headers, turbos and intercooler. 40k to have someone do it for you, tune it, and replace internals. Cheaper to buy a syty and modify it.
