good friend of mine owns an 03 Z06....it has been slightly modded..some kind of reprogramming and a 500 dollar intake that breathes out of where the front license plate should go...i've driven it a couple of times and it hauls balls...my favorite aspect of the car (besides the looks) is the in-cab sound of the motor...oh yea, he installed a complete borla exhaust system on it as well...the car is red with red/black interior...i bet that car can squeeze out a high eleven on a cool day...they are incredible cars...he bought it with only 1500 miles on the odometer and IIRC he paid 42k for it...

There are a few guys on the Z06 board that have managed 11.90's bone stock and more that are very close to stock, if the track hooks and you are willing to slip the clutch at 6k, shift fast and at the rev limiter it is possible. The key is to keep the rpms way up and not spin the tires.

Its not just forums either... GM High tech & performance had an article a month or so ago on them. They went 11.97 once and very low 12s a few other times. LS1s/LS6s are very badass engines. Although a 2002 wouldnt have the 405hp engine... its still worth a lot more than 15k! You must mean 15k + sy.

2001 = 385HP
2002 = 405HP
2003's do put down a few more RWHP than 02's but all 02 and newer are 405 HP
