seat belts

anyone got any tricks to removing the bolt holding the seat belt reciever down? so far i've broken 2 torx bits trying. should i put the bit in and use it to heat up the bolt?

get underneath with a small propane torch and heat the nut and bolt up, there is thread lock on there and over time it corrodes as well.

What brand torx are you using? I always found out the cheap ones will twist and break easily. A Snap On, Mac, or Matco seem to hold up. Or you can try an impact gun on the socket but then if it slips out youll strip the torx. :(

well the first one was one i had laying around, second one was a mr goodwrench, now i picked up a craftsman, if that don't work i'll chase down a snap on/mac truck and buy one, impact preferably

C-4 and gasoline? WD40 overnite soak and then some heat from underneath if needed.

If it's really rusted in there. Drill it out, and then run a tap into to it to clean up the threads.

I dont thionk its a t50 itys a odd ball size warm it up with a Maop gas torch and then touch the warm bolts with a candle works every time

i'll check again but the 2 torx bits i broke already were t50, but i think it's more like t51 or t52

got them out. i ended up buying a set of those spiffy rounded lug nut removing sockets, but ended up breaking one, time to break out the drill
