Scan tools and chips together

Any problems using TunerPro RT or Datamaster if you have an after market multi-chip setup. I have an STG 3bar multi controller installed. Since Datamaster is a log tool I wouldn't think there would be a problem with it. TunerPro can tweak and write. How does that work? Are only certain functions then available to tweak on a chipped ECU. I wouldn't think you would want to write over the data on the chip since that is what you pay for. I have programmed ECUs before but not with piggyback or daughter board set ups. Does this make sense?? :?

Thanks

Re: Scan tools and chips together

You cant modify the ultimate chip it is a uv erasable eprom.

For our trucks we use tunerpro and normally an emulator. Once it is close you can burn a chip...

I am in denver and can show you what I am talking about...

Re: Scan tools and chips together

io have a Prominator and it is multi chip emulation but it doesn't write - I have to use a different programme to do that.

If you are new to all this I suggest taking a huge step back and read Jeffs Tuning 101 posts. Find out all you need to get started before you decide which route you will go as there are a few options. They say Tookys site is good too but I haven't seen it.

Also, I don't know how much or little you know about these trucks, if you know less, I would get to know the truck before doing any of your own tuning.

Re: Scan tools and chips together

I have a decent laptop with datamaster and a aldl cable that I would sell to you for a pretty cheap price...
Then you can get to know the truck and start to learn what your truck likes and dosent!

I don't want to tune right away I want to see what I have. It was set up by a previous owner and seems to run well. Logging some runs will tell me how well it is running.
