Scan tool in Calgary?

I'm trying to narrow down a cold idle stumble and hesitation on a 92 Ty in Calgary. So far I figure it's either a TB air leak, misadjusted blades, or a voltage issue at the alternator. I doubt it's the TPS (does it at idle too), and it nearly goes away when warmed up (makes me lean toward an air leak vs. voltage issue).

I'd love to take the truck up to Edmonton for the boys to have their way with it for a good chip-tune if I can get this sorted out first. The 20G, 255lph, AFPR, and 3bar is sitting right beside me but I won't install it until I get it to idle nice.

Who's in this neck of the woods (Calgary area) that wouldn't mind helping me out one day?

Re: Scan tool in Calgary?

I checked the truck's voltage and no fluctuation or funny stuff - it's 14.5v consistently yet still idles down, nearly stalls, then shoots back up to 1400rpm and does it all over again.

Still thinking vac leak but if someone has a DM I'd surely appreciate it.
( I also can't get my new IC pump to work - voltage at connector, even tried jumping the ground)

Kind of sounds like a sticky IAC motor. But your right, need to see some scan logs to get a direction to go in.

The pump is most likely dead. It is common with the age of the trucks.

Re: Scan tool in Calgary?

whoops, I should have mentioned I just installed a new one. The OEM pump was nearly dead but it did still work on the floor. The new one won't whirr with the ALDL jumpered yet I see power at the connector. I also jumped the ground.

I'm sure one day I'll figure it out...if I look hard enough I might find a kinked hose or something (just doesn't seem like the pump is even spinning)

I know you were asking at the beginning of August, but I have a laptop and DataMaster that I use for my Sy. If you want to drop by one evening and go for a couple of runs I'd be more then happy to log it for you.

I'll PM you and see if you're still around.
