Saw some cool stuff at SEMA

Well, I did get a chance to walk the SEMA show one day and looked specifically for parts that might work on our SyTy's.... here are some of them....

Note.... some of these may be pure BS, or may just not work in our applications, but I always like to look for things that might push the envelope a bit.... :D

Also, don't mean to step on any of our valued SyTy vendors... the parts below are pretty universal....

1. A "new" kind of sparkplug... may have some merit.. might try it on something other than the Sy.... thinking about turbo motors, this plug may actually help us out a bit.

2. I got a bunch of info on bolt-in laptop stands.... if anyone wants links to these just let me know.

7. This company has a really nice looking throttle body at a lot lower cost.... I looked it over and will probably order one to try since mine looks a little worn out. The build quality on this piece was very impressive.... http://www.professional-products.com/throttleLT1.php

10. Afco has a nice bolt-in aluminum radiator for S-10's - would work pretty well for us... it's a double row, double pass design... also expensive http://www.afabcorp.com/AFCO_Dynate...Code=80240N-1Z&Category_Code=tk_chevy-s10-rad They do have bolt-on cooling fan kits, and the raditators can be plumbed with AN fittings.

11. Really nice, expensive, electric water pumps.... http://www.meziere.com ... and, billet mechanical water pumps

dont buy those they dont work any better than stock I had them on my truck last year and just went with the cbr kit :2cents:

Yup, I'm going with the CBR as well.... need to get my new rims first, though

I'll check in their catalog... if I remember right the CFM rating was in the catalog but not yet on the website. I'll look when I get home tonight.

I'm using a qtp cutout on my new dp. Found out about them after installing a few on f-bodys a few years ago. I choose to go with the controller too. Worth while upgrade if you have the extra cash.

Brochure says 3,000 cfm, uses variable speed control, and draws 35 amps max.

I just tried to order one of these from Summit, but by the time we figur3ed out all the brackets and adaptors necessary, it was almost a $500 alternator. No thanks, I'm good.

Yup, that's the problem with a lot of this stuff with the high bling factor... the $$ signs add up quickly.... my best luck has been finding a good alternator shop and having them just rewind/rebuild for high output... great quality and a great price.. :D

I'll post up the links to the other laptop stand guys tonight when I get home.

This place does awesome work http://www.rickshotrodshop.com/
(like stainless steel custom fuel tanks with internally mounted pumps or stealth units
but their not reasonable/cheap). Most folks just mount external pumps/external lines
to sheet metal tanks which seem a bit dangerous for street use (if rear ended)
not to mention noisy and require external cooling. As far as I know no one
has a prototype unit built for SyTys from which units can be made from (especially
for a Typhoon).

None that I saw at SEMA .... hard to find some of those obscure items for our SyTy's - nice fuel cell is probably the best bet.
