I am now a real syty'er because I now I have 2 sy's at my house and neither one runs. :rotf:

Went and picked up syclone 1900 for Dave (Lil Qik). What a headach. The people were a bit lost with what to do. showed up late, gave me the wrong address, did not answer the phone... Truck was behind a minivan and they had no way to move it. Took me from 9am- 4pm to get everything done. Nice to help out a friend. Dave If you are happy with it then it was worth it. Its a bit rough, body has some dammage mostly the bed. But its mostly there with a few cladding pieces missing. It was rearended while parked. Here is a few pics.
It also probably holds the reccord for the most milage on a stock engine.

There is a reason I have a suburban with a class 4 hitch

Thanks again Gary. It does look pretty bad....but I think I can bring it back to a respectable condition. Atleast now I have something to play with and don't have to get too crazy with my Ty. It sucks that they weren't more prepared for your arrival. I'll make it up to you though. Hope it didn't put you too far out. All in all I'm happy with it. Never thougth I'd be able to find one for what I was willing to pay for it. Of course I know someone probably could have talked him down....but I feel it was worth it. It's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose. But thanks again....I don't think there's a lot of people that are willing to do what you did for me. I would have to say you're definitely a first class Sy/Ty'er......lol

Any pics you want to see LMK. I tried to talk him down for you. He kept saying I have other people interested in it. He would not budge in price. Still not sure about the wheels. We have to talk about that. Did not see any rust at all. Frame looks almost as clean as mine. He was a young kid. early 20's. Just bashed it up. I hope you make a nice truck out of it. I did get the stock tail lights.
I bought a DP from a guy here. I think his name was robert. If you can e-mail me if you have any cladding we can hook David with. Thanks, I lost your e-mail.

nice pickup that was the one on craigslist for like 2500$? a new bed and cladding looks like it would be good as new enough

It's cool....like I said....in my opinion, I feel it was worth it....and it will definitely be a nice truck when I'm done with it. Any and all pics that you have, feel free to send them to my Yahoo account. If you decide that you don't want the wheels....just let me know what you may be thinking for the help. It's not a problem.

And yes...that was the one on Craigslist......

You didn't get hurt a bit on that deal. I could part that truck out and make another $2-2,500 on top of what you paid....guaranteed. Good find and all the best bringing it back to life. This would be a great opportunity to throw a trick paint scheme on it too :tup:

Appreciate it. None of this would have been possible without all the leg work that Gary (gjp) did for me. We're taking it all the way down to the frame and bringing it back. This is what's getting my twin turbo.....so there's a good possibility that it'll get some sort of custom paint. We'll see.

How can you tell it's an 8.5. I'm not that familiar with them so I've gotta ask. If it's a different rear....it might not be a 3.42. Kinda of looks like it was being driven without the front driveshaft by the looks of the rear tires....

Got to say us boys from SyTy did a real great job by both saving that truck and working together and most of all being hoest. Im very excited for you man thats an awesome find. Gary, your the man for doing that. I can totally understand how frustrating it mustve been trying to get the thing all ready to leave from its old home. For all of you that dont know, I was trying to buy the truck too but ended up helping LIL in the sale (sorta); I had called a few times and lets just say they werent the most competent people, always seemed to be in a rush and never knew much. w/e Glad it worked out Gj guys!

Yeap....and thank you as well. I know you probably could have gotten the truck a little cheaper but I'd already told him that I'd give him the 2500. I'm sure I made his day when I told him that....lol. He seemed like a nice kid.....just wasn't real realiable as far as getting in touch with them. I'm just clad we got it....and can't wait to get it and myself back home to start working on it.

And yes....anyone that can help me locate at least the two rear pieces of cladding would be greatly appreciated. I imagine I'll put a WTB add in the proper section soon. I'm thinking that I might be able to repair the rest of them.....at least I hope so....lol

I was glad to help. Thats what family is for. I have been helped by so many of you guys. Have to give a thumbs up to my friend too(one in the pic) He helped me out and got nothing in return. Dave sent you an e-mail on the cladding.

yeah back tires do make it look like it was driven 2wd.....2500 is a hell of steal for that truck..good luck keep us updated

Yea...plan on doing a project page once I get the truck and myself home. Should be fun.
