Re: Salvaged Titles??

Well, I just got off the phone with the guy a little bit ago. I told him that I cant give them what they were asking but made an offer anyway; probably for more than I should have. He seemed a little miffed and said that they needed a lot more than my offer, basiclly a give me the 5K that I am asking for. I responded back with "the truck is just too rough for what your asking". Oh well, it looks like I am not going to own a Salvaged title, poorly maintained, beat to hell, rusted and rough Sy. Huh, why exactly was I interested in this again? :rotf: The guy was nice, just thinks the truck is worth WAY more than what it actually is. :screwy:

Re: Salvaged Titles??

I paid $3,500 for my sy. its rough but not that rough. has 67K miles, a clean title and a v8. I decided after having some of the nicest trucks around landing one somewhere in the middle that I can guiltlessly modd the crap out of was more for me. keep looking and forget the salvage truck. most guys on here MIGHT buy a very nice salvage truck. more than likely they would buy it and part it out (sy 1177, jimmy, etc..) hold out there is definately better out there. how come you didn't buy my old sy here in MI?

Re: Salvaged Titles??

I own a salvage title toyota truck, modded to no end. about to go ls motor in it. the frame is the only stock part anymore. oh, and most of the interior. i beat the hell out of it, its fun. but it never breaks. give that guy some time. if it does not get sold in a little while, offer him less than previous and say you have seen similar trucks for less money. He should bite if nobody else is, only takes time.

I bought my current Sy (1616) from a guy in NY early this past summer. After that, I didnt really look for another until recently. When did you sell yours?

Now I remember....I did email you about it but you had already sold it when you emailed me back. I would have bought it or at least came over an checked it out. This was the one in Lapeer...right?

Re: Salvaged Titles??

in my experiences selling salvage or rebuilt titles here in michigan, I usually am able to get 75% of clean title value. It all depends on the quality of repairs. To bring a decent price, the car needs to be restored to pre-accident condition to the average buyer. Last one I sold was a 300c to a guy who was able to get a loan on it. For the syclone in question, ive seen the ad. the guy was asking even more before. I would say its worth 3k-ish given its current state. Is the title currently salvage or rebuilt salvage?

Well the truck is very rough and I see it’s now listed on eBay for like the 3rd time. It states that the interior is immaculate. Ummm, ya, sure :screwy: To say that its in its original pre accident condition may be accurate, if it looked that beat before its restoration. I am not for 100% but I think he said it was salvaged and I do know that there was a case of attempted title washing on it. All in all, the guy and his son were really nice but they just have a very rough truck and want way too much for it. The pics on eBay actually look much better than the truck does in person. I guess, only time will tell on this one.:2cents:

Well, the rust is all along the bottom of pretty much the entire truck just above the cladding. Keep in mind, I saw this with a flashlight at night! The truck shows almost 170,000 miles, not the 120,000 advertised. The interior isnt even close to immaculate, I would give it a fair and thats being nice about it. If they took close to what everybody else here is saying it would be an ok deal. What they are asking is WAY overpriced for the condition of the truck. If you decide to buy it, then best of luck to you, it is a project truck. I have already started looking for another one elsewhere. Check out the link below on it from an earlier post.
