S/C Cobra

So were out the other night and were rollin next to a yellow S/C Cobra. Everytime he got in it even a little, I could hear it whining. Is that normal for a stock S/C Cobra? It whinned loud. Anyhow, we caught a light together and we both nodded. I didnt have much time to get ready and I only launched with 5#'s. Still, I had him bad. About 6-7 cars by the 1/8th or so. We caught the next light. I asked him what he had done and he told me Intake, exhaust and he was gonna put a pulley on this weekend. He also told me he wasnt ready at the last light and wanted to run again. So I get all set up, light goes green and Im 3 cars out. We were doing about 80 when he started to pull. At 90/5 his front bumper was at my back tire. We both let off at that point. The guy was pretty cool and gave a thumbs up and I did the same. One of the better races Ive had in a while.

you hear them whining out when they pedal it a bit, i raced a bunch of them the most fun one was with a set of drag radials, exhaust and intake the guy had. I heard that kenne bell offeres a whipplecharger that suppose to be monstrous for those engines

Those cars flat out haul.. tons of hidden horsepower in there computer. If insurance wasn't ungodly for those cars in this state i'd own one... Good kill

The intake will make the S/C louder. I put a drop in K&N filter in Christen's SS, and you can hear the whine a lot easier

So would a pulley. The other most common/cheap mod for those cobras.

Most those Cobras will run 12's with a good driver. Good thing you got him to go from a dig. From a roll you'd probably be in trouble...good driver or not.

We played around from a roll at about 40 and we were even til 60 65 when we both let off. He told me he didnt have a puilley.

I would say you ran across someone that doesn't know how to drive, 390hp outta the box, can hit 500 VERY easy and cheap

Agreed.

There are very few stock Cobras in my area. Although I don't "bow down" to them, I think they can be pretty deadly cars with the right package/driver. Afterall they better be... 32valves, four cams and a blower on top of that?

Also not really sure what kind of racing your guys are doing. Obviously not a true 1/4. Which is understandable if your on the street and don't want to get too crazy.

I find it kinda hard to believe that anybody with a car that traps over/around 110mph (in stock form) is "shutting down" the "same time" as you when he's "reeling you in at 90-95mph at your back bumper". That's just plain silly. lol

But who knows, maybe the guy was that clueless.

Couldn't agree more but it's a kill none the less. My brother has a 04 Cobra with mild mods and is in the low 11's on the street. I'd love to see a Ty tangle with him. When he gets back from Iraq, I will see if the Sy came tame him. I've sure been talking lots of smack about it.

Like any decently fast car from the factory the terminator cobras were under rated at 390/390 and low 12's with a decent driver stock isn't un heard of.. I got raped by a friend's 11.60's 04 plenty of times and all he has is a pms, pullly, steeda cai and mt dr's .. it's all in the driver I believe but good kill never the less

Eh, didnt really think it mattered much. Hope youre not implying IMa liar. Im gettin tired of defending myself against the haters. Austin was down here one night and could probably vouch that I do plenty of racing, dont post all my kills, and tell the entire story regaurdless of the outcome all the time. I usually just tell the important parts. I thought the guy actually had a pretty decent launch. I heard a chirp and sounded like he hooked up rather well. Im not sure why you people find these things so hard to believe. Everytime I post about beating a fast car, someone always has to say the driver sucked. Why dont all the pro drivers with their fast cars drive em out here and lets see. Everyone around here is so damn perfect Im not sure where I fit in now :roll: Is it possible, just for one moment in time, that maybe, just maybe, my truck is atleast kinda fast? Kills me everytime how were all here to make our trucks fast as possible and when someone is in the middle of it and is having good results all the homos have to step in and try to knock it. OK IM done moanin, carry on with slams. :tup:

I'm not saying your truck isn't fast. I'm not saying everybody you beat is a shitty driver. I have questioned some of your kills because you post one, sometimes two in one day. Most the time you barely give enough info for anyone to get it. Usually it's another one of those "smoked a so and so today"..."wasn't even close".

I'm just wondering if you've ever lost a race. LOL

I could careless to "prove" myself to anyone here. Its unecassary. If you dont believe me thats fine. Most of the posted kills dont have vids. FWIW, though, I actually do have a butload of video and I bought the dealy bobber to transfer to my PC but it says my USB isnt fast enough and I dont have even close to enough memory. So I went out and bought a memory card and put it in and couldnt get my puter to work. All in due time. I can also say there are a few people here who have seen everyone of my videos and know IM not full of shit. And I do apologize about the vagueness of these kill stories, if I wrote down every detail, every kill, all the time, Ild spend hours on here. Theres a lot of racing here and I just kinda tend to post up when I think about it and its fresh in my mind. I am also a very sick man, whenever I take the truck out even if its to go down to the store, I am always looking for a race and its usually there. Hell I went to pick up checks form clients today and on my way home I shmoked a Type R and Eclipse GT all in about 5 minutes. But see those are worthless races so Im not gonna post about em. Now as for what I run at the track I m not sure yet and dont really care too much at the moment. IM pretty sure with some more tuning I can get into the 12's. On DM, the other morning, I ran 13.7. When Ive compared DM to real track times Ive noticed DM is usually 3-4 tenths behind real time. And I know I am not in the best tune I can be in. My truck is constantly in and out of tune. My latest and greatest is Im having fueling problems ever since I had my tank out a few eeks ago. Its always little stuff but I usually get it fixwed fairly fast.
