Rust Converter

I'm in the process of replacing the carpet in my Typhoon. Before the new carpet goes in there is some surface rust in front of both front seats. I was thinking of using one of these products then painting the area so that the rust would not get worse. Has anyone used either of these products and how did it work? Or do you recommend another product instead of these two?

I have used a few different types. It takes the rust and turns it into primer. Most of them need to be topcoated with an oil based paint. I feel its the next best thing to cutting out the rust and replacing the metal. I did not look at your links, but they sell both spray and brush on type. I would recommend the brush on type.

I guess there are plenty of options out there. I would like to just buy one and not have to buy a cleaner, rust converter and top coat. I'm not going to see this after its covered by the carpet just trying to stop the rust from getting worse.

If you want a simple one application paint, use plain ole rustoleum. Use a foam brush and put it on as thick as you can using a dabbing method. I have polished many a rusty terd, and for the time and money you can not go wrong with the oil based rustoleum. Only down side is that it may take a couple days to dry.
