Roberts and Testing

We did some testing tonight with Roberts truck to make sure everything went well with journay and it was as strong as when it left sweden.

Myclone, Ms. Myclone and Joe Keller met us there, as did the local JSM guys.

I was the driver for the swedish green bus aka tow rig.

I can tell you guys this truck is much more impressive in person. Best part was we got there 2 hours before the gates opened so we unloaded it outside the gates. Robert DROVE the truck into the track.

Since he was here and to avoid any issues we decided to go ahead and get his NHRA license tonight. Call it a soveniour if you want. Not many other swedes will have that one.

So he made 6 runs, 2 60fts, 2 1/8th mile, and 2 in the 9's. Low boost, easy launches etc. Yep I said it EASY 9's to finish off the required 6 runs. Did I mention the first 4 runs were done within 10 minutes of each other? 2 minutes between rounds. This is a true TRUCK, not a race only.

We then started to pump things up a bit.

Run #7 he forgot to turn on the nitrous. Then at the end the brand new belt busted so he let off for a 9.11 @ 144 (memory, timeslips still in truck)

With some quick help running to get new belt while the track was delayed due to sprinkles we had a new belt on and ready to go.

Run #8 netted another 9.11 @154mph. Truck was spinning almost all the way due to rain, and just in general not so great conditions.

We decided that was good enough, load it on trailer and head home happy.

Robert is very pleased with those times. No tuning was done, track conditions not ideal, truck spinning a bunch and still LOW 9's. If this doesn't prove his truck can run fast in US nothing will.

Tomorrow we are going to make some belt changes, minor tweaks and get ready for nats. See you guys there.

Several cameras were rolling so don't worry. I am just dead tired and we need time to rest.

The crowd at the track after the 60ft runs kept asking me if it would run 10's, I just smiled.

By the end of the day, when they saw us come to line, everybody had camera's rolling. It was good.

Re: Roberts and Testing

Robert's Sy is VERY impressive. Its not all over the track like the other "fast trucks" Ive seen. I predict some record breaking 8's at the Nats. The swedes are very cool and will have no problem fitting in with the rest of the sytyers at the Nats.
Have fun guys and good luck!

 Ha, nice work. Now there won't be any BS. [Mr.Burns] Excellent....excellent. [/Mr.Burns]

Thanks for the quick updates, Jeff. It's nice for those unable to attend the Nats this year to hear this info so quickly.

From the sounds of it, that truck can run low 9's without breaking a sweat. And it's able to pass through the gates at 154mph...when it's wet.

So much for "oh, you didn't run that on a U.S. track".

Screw the haters. :squint:

[/sarcasm on] This post is useless without video...[sarcasm off]

Sounds great, I'd love to see that thing in person, but since I won't be at the nat's, I'll hafta wait for it to come out on DVD.

In Hillbillyland, they let you race on NHRA tracks for your NHRA license in shorts and a t-shirt,half drunk,no helmet, running low 9's. Just ask Robert. :D

Shit they pat you on the back for it.

Re: Roberts and Testing

The track wasn't WET per se, but had sprinkled just minutes before and was not in great condition.

Most of the cars were on street tires, which anybody that has run slicks will tell you kills a track.

Hillbilly track? Middle of KY, to hell you say.

Re: Roberts and Testing

so what did it 60ft at? Did he do better/worse in the 60ft than in Sweden? I can hardly wait to see this beast. Well worth the 15hrs of driving
