Rev Manuel valve body for 4L80

I was on the phone with continential tranny parts. and i started to the guy about the 4l80 converstion. he was giving me prices on all the parts i would need to make the tranny stronger and he mentioned that instead of buying the controller you can use a manuel valve body, and just lock the converter up with a switch or the make a controller for that
(cheap). has anyone went this route? instead of 8-900 on a controller?

i know the price diffrence isnt huge you have to buy the valve body and a shifter
but its an alternative. and you can save like 2-300....

It has been discussed several times.

Yes it is an option, and one as far as I know is not reversable. So once you mod the tranny it can't be changed back easily.

I think you will find after labor, parts the difference is VERY small.

The shifter is key also, as the stock probably won't handle shifting on a daily basis in a manual environment.

I had a GP on controllers for $540. Very little interest on here for whatever reason. The HD3 kit is $320. Takes 5 hours to do the HD3 kit and you CANNOT go back to using a controller once you do the full manual valvebody setup unless you buy a new valvebody ($275).
