Respect!!!

Weeks like this really put a smile on my face. I knew that the SyTy's had a bit of a following but I wasn't aware of how large.

So on Sunday I'm on my way back home and I'm sitting at a light when these two 20 something guys roll up next to me in a black Escort coupe. They were both pretty stoked at the fact they were looking at a Typhoon. All smiles and thumbs up so when the light went green I gave them a pretty decent launch to remember it by. LOL!!

Then last night I'm coming out of the Safeway in downtown Renton. The same one I saw the all black Ty at some months ago and the same one I saw G-Force's red/grey Ty at a month or so ago. I walk up to my Ty and there's this dude standing there with his 7 or 8 year old daughter and he's telling her how it's turbo charged etc. I walk up and he's like "Beautiful truck man". I was pretty damned pleased to say the least.

Things like that really drive me to put more effort into prettying up the Ty not to mention the go fast stuff.

I'm sure the rest of you have plenty of stories like this but I just had to share those.

Re: Respect!!!

Awesome! Yeah it always feels good when people come up to me and tell me what a sick truck I have. It doesn't happen all the time, but there are certain days where people keep asking about it. Pretty funny.

Please don't say "pretying up" ever again. Thanks, the syty community.

Ok so how about sinisterizing?

Re: Respect!!!

Amen,

I was in Port Ludlow area last fall. Came out of a parking lot and this guy pretty much swings his whole head around following me out of the parking lot. i notice in my rear view that he is turning around to follow me.....My brother in law in the truck with me asks if I know this guy....I have no clue who he is...

I proceed to the condo and park....all of a sudden the guy shows up and slams on his brakes as if he is just ready to kill...Jumps out of his blazer and falls all over my Typhoon, talking about the one he owns and how much he likes it..as if we were best pals..I get this alot with the Typhoon, but the best is leaving rice burners in the dust.....oh the loks on their faces:)

:p

Re: Respect!!!

Glad you can find that respect in a city full of idiots. I have never received such an impression in Seattle. Nice to hear there are some decent folks there. Maybe its me!

Re: Respect!!!

2 weeks ago I was heading home and I saw a Cherokkee (SRT-8) behind me. The guy acelerates, opens the window and starts to scream "Man, that is a nice truck!! I love these trucks, they are really fast and blablabla". I was very pleased for hearing that.

Then, last Sunday I was in south beach, stuck in traffic, and a guy asks if it's for sale. I said yes! 16k and is all yours. He just smiled and said "I wish I had this money now, I want one since I was 15".

It feels nice Setti, doesn't it?

Re: Respect!!!

I get a few thumbs up while driving down the road. Sometimes I'm not sure if they're giving me the thumbs up for the truck, or me blaring AC/DC with the windows rolled down. But I even got waved to pull over so the dude could get a ride in it. I even took a GMC salesman for a ride, cause he never ridden in one. I also get alot of attention with it when I autocross as well. They ask me how it handles, and I always reply "like a semi truck".

Re: Respect!!!

I always get looks and compliments wherever I go. The sad part is its usually when the truck is dirty.

Re: Respect!!!

The only comment I've gotten in Washington was somebody screaming "TYPHOOOON!!!!!" from another car while driving along.

I'm pretty sure it's because the grey cladding hides in the grey streets and the green body hides in the green everywhere else here.

I got a comment at every gas station on my way to WA from Wisconsin. What color combination is your truck?
