"Red" GMC ?

Looking for an expert on somethin Thats starting to drive me to drinking!
On the front grille of black Typhoons, what color should the letters GMC be? Browsing the internet today alone, I've seen RED "GMC", GOLD letters, and what appears to be flat black on black grilles. I'm looking to buy a black 92 Typhoon that has black letters. Any ideas?

I believe all factory letters were red but somewhere on here I read that a few came black from the factory. I am sure someone else who knows more then me will chime in.

The only 2 factory colors are red and black. Not sure what determined (or I just dont remember) why a truck got red or blacks. The black letters are favored by alot and somewhat pricey to buy since they are demand over the reds. Its personal preference really.

They are easy to change out. Just remove the grille, take off the nuts holding on the letters and swap em out.

Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like the vehicles with black grilles must be limited and early 92's.
JIm's 92 One more question---- Is there a web site or source of info where you can figure out where your vehicle was in the production run.?

For what its worth- my old '92 white & white #1414 had black grill letters & my current '92 white & grey #0799 also has black grill letters

I sell the GMC black grille letters, $57 includes shipping in U.S. they are GM OEM.
