Rear diff fluid change

Noticed some seepage from the rear diff.

Looks like right now it's sealed with RTV.

Truck has a "perfect launch" diff cover installed on it.

I'm assuming this cover is built to OEM spec so fluid amounts should remain the same.

My question is if there is a gasket I should use or should I just use RTV? I have a can of "the right stuff" black left over from resealing my intake on another car. Is that fine to use?

I just looked at the Perfect Launch cover on Jeggs site. If you're filling the dif to fill plug on the cover you are way over full. Use the fill plug on dif case only.

I would use a gasket with the rtv sealant, I have the same cover.

Do you know what gasket I need? I was searching jegs and found a cover that fits the GMC jimmy but no gasket :(

Noted. Thanks.

Gasket is Fel-Pro RDS 55072 But you should be able to go to any parts store and get it by application.
