rear coil-overs

Re: rear coil-overs

it doesnt matter which leaf spring you use...... the typhoons only have a limited amount of travel because the bump stops will contact the rear end before the tire contacts the cladding. want to know how much suspension travel you ahve measure the distance between teh tire adn the cladding..... these trucks do not tuck like s-10's. you can install jesus's magical grubs and weasel's leaf springs and as long as the truck is sitting nice and low your gonna be all over the bump stops. you have to increase spring rate and dampening. period.

Yep, E's right and I agree. It not a question so much of how low do you want to go but how low can you go before tire hit cladding (if you mess with going lower than the factory bump stops).

I did the Turbotime rear coil-over with the Belltech no overload leaf.
I have a fuel cell mounted behind the rear axle so there is extra weight back there for me.
The nice thing about coil-overs are that you can adjust your trucks height front and rear with whatever weight you have....or upcoming weight reduction mod.
The adjustable shocks are also a bonus.

Please explain "upcoming weight reduction mod."

Well that is a blanket statement for anything on the vehicle.
Maybe dump the 20 gallon tank for a 10 gallon.
Lexan glass.
Fiberglass radiator support.
Grab a couple of Energizer batteries wired in series for a main battery.
Carbon fiber fuzzy dice....
Anyways all you have to do is remove a couple of turns on the coil-overs and be set.

Anyone working on a carbon fiber tube chasis with integrated roll cage?
How about some winning Lotto numbers so I can make some?
Thanks in advance.
