I am getting QA1 rear coil over shocks for my sy and want to know if the double adjustable are that much better then the single ?? I dont plan on climbing under the bed to adjust them all the time . I want to set them up for a good take off and some stiffness is acceptable for street driving . Any advice ??

Re: Rear coil over shocks q ?

The only other truck I've seen running them is E-Rue's Ty. I haven't seen much more about it.

I don't have any practical experience with these, however I have some theory.

If you are going for more than drag racing, the doubles are probably a waste. However if you are planning on autocrossing, or road racing then they might work out well for you.

With a double adjustable you get to adjust both bound (compression), and Rebound ("bounce back") speeds. For the track you can set the bound to full soft, and the reboudn to full stiff (or some combination along those lines), and the weight will transfer back quickly, but not rebound to fast, and "jounce" the truck. Then for autocross/spirited street driving you can set both to near the same, and have a decent handling truck, with perhaps the bound set a bit higher than the rebound.

If you have the cash, and think you need the extra adjustability than go ahead and get em. If not, savea few bucks, and have rebound adjustment only, and call it good. I don't think you'll be unhappy with either.

I only know of 3 people running rears , robert , e-rue and I believe p. long .I'm not ever going to autocross and will probably get the cheaper ones . I want to replace the sqaut'n'go , with just GO . Thanks .

Re: Rear coil over shocks q ?

I have the same ones e-rue has on his Ty with the 100/200 coils. Much different ride since I put them on. You have to get them adjust properly or you get a nice bounce from the coils and look like you are driving around on the bump stops like a honda  . I launch way flat now. I like them a lot. Hopefully I will do a 4 link or a 4-bar setup on the rear and get rid of the leaf springs.
