Re: racing stripes?

I think some white "The Flying Fridge" window decals are in order for this one. I think the only stripes that look good on white are blue. Maybe a small pinstripe on each side?

Do the traditional...a Typhoon is not some run of the mill ss. Friends don't let friends put stripes on a Ty

Re: racing stripes?

Steve Gavic's Typhoon is the first that comes to mind....

(before he added flames)

Wonder why the stripe is on the upper grille frame and not the lower? I like these stripes better than stopping on the hood. Kinda like something Ford did though. I'd get rid of the rookie stripe.

Ken if you do stripes, make the Typhoon name on the sides the same color as the stripes.

I never noticed the lower grille. Good eye! I think he was going for the "Grand Sport" look with the rookie stripe. He later added flames with the stripes. I thought the flames were too much but it's Steve's Ty not mine.

My ass. Look at it.
Re: racing stripes?

Here's a couple shots. The grill is the same color as the stripes, ghosty silver metallic. They showed up nice in the pics, they can be hard to see depending on the light.

Exactly what I meant in style & tastefully done ghost stripes :tup:. Don't let'em get to ya about the bugs .... I'd squash a few dozen & drive it as often as possible before it goes back to jackstands

Re: racing stripes?

I thought about doing some SS stripes on my Ty to match the look of my El Camino SS but I quickly had second thoughts... 1. Its not an SS, 2. Its not a chevrolet. 3. I like the stealth "no attention" look of our trucks. Not that I think stripes would look bad but everyone has their own taste.

Re: racing stripes?

That might be it (honestly, I missed the link on my first read through). The pics I saw didn't have that the vents in the hood or fender though

Re: racing stripes?

I would do the GMC lettering white with that stripe... just my :2cents:

Funny, I thought the exact same thing about the white lettering. I read about the Grand Sport inspired paint scheme... painting the "GMC" grille letters to match the red hash marks might look good too. ShuggsRR- that new paint looks incredible!
