Quick TV Cable question

Don W.

Stab it and steer it
I have the directions but I'm not quite clear.

The directions mention ratcheting. The only way I can get mine to ratchet is to depress the re-adjust tab “in full throttle position” at which point (what I interpret to be the slider) moves fully to the left or passenger side.

My question is what is the desired end result? I think it should be that the TV cable is at the end of its travel with WOT. Correct?

Thanks,

Don

with the throttle fully released push the tv adjust button and pull the cable out till it stops and release the button

then rotate the throttle by hand to WOT and the TV cable will ratchet inwards while you rotate the throttle

end result is at WOT the TV cable is tight

Stab it and steer it
Still fine tuning the cable (as discussed in the link) but at least I have the procedure. Thanks to all…

i must have confused you with the "pull the cable all the way out" part
i should have said pull the black cable sheath all the way out

you should never "tune" the transmission with the TV cable, you will burn clutches trying to do this.

the only adjustment you should do is set the cable a couple notches tighter after adjusting it with the above procedure. The tigher adjustment, in most cases, will not self-adjust back to the looser, initial setting due to stretching in the accelerator linkage
