quick question about the electric fuel psi gauge

i read the whole post that jeremy started not too long ago involving the fuel sender and where to put it... i already have the braided adapter for the fuel psi gauge. now here comes the funny part... i know you car genius' get a laugh when someone who shouldnt even be working on a lawnmower let alone a syclone asks lame questions, but here goes... wheres the shrader valve, that i supposed to hook this braided line into? (pausing for laughter) ok times up... so where is it?

This might be a stupid question, but what's a "afpr" I know what a fpr is = fuel pressure regulator, but a afpr what's that?

I assume it's fpr and if it is, the fpr is on pass side of fuel rail and i guess you are installing the fp gauge braided line on check valve on driver side of fuel rail?

If i'm corrct you can install them one at the time and don't have to worrie about taking one off to install the other.

in the process of putting in my afpr. i also have an AM electric fuel pressure gauge and i have the braided cable adapter. my question is, where do it put the fuel psi sender? does it involve anything with the afpr? i just dont want to install the afpr, and have to pull it later to put the fuel psi gauge in. if someone has an easy explaination for how its supposed to be set up, it would be greatly appreciated. yeah yeah i know i know ...newbies

yeah had to re-word it so it sounded better hahaha anyway... afpr = adjustable fuel pressure regulator. i just wanna know where i hook up the braided line? in leymans terms... so yes that means you can use terms like "thingy".

the shrader valve is on the front of the fuel rail on the drivers side. It has a little cap that is screwed on it.

And you have to remove that little valve inside it (looks like a tire valve, same tool to remove it)

The coolest adaptor ive seen yet, you can see the 90 degree elbow coming off the fuel rail. Unscrew cap, place rag under/around the valve, remove the valve with schrader valve removal tool.

one more question about this supposed hole in the firewall behind the brake booster...

are you guys talkin about the one kinda on the left side with a big grommet, and a purple wire goin through it? thats the only one i can see... if theres another one i cant see then its probably already being used.

I guess you could say ist bellow and to the left if your looking at it from the engine compartment side. I would say toward the passenger side a little.

ok last question about this...

i found the valve, and i pulled the "nipple" out. then put on the braided cable, and put the sender on the other end...

i tightend both ends of the cable pretty good, but when i turn the key and the fuel pump turns on, fuel leaks out of both ends of the cable... do i need to make the cable ends super tight? or do i need o-rings or something? i know youre not supposed to use teflon tape or any of that shit when working with the fuel system so... any suggestions?

tight enough so you dont think they are going to leak. Use a liquid teflon pipe sealer on both ends.

there are 2 grommets you can use. if you get under the dash and pull back the carpet, you'll be able to spot them both. I have everything going through the one about midway down the booster to the passanger side. There is another on the bottom of the booster.

Be careful tightening down the fitting on the rail. You don't want to crack the fuel rail, I've heard its not hard to do.
FWIW.
The liquid teflon tape should do the trick.

Re: quick question about the electric fuel psi gauge

Holy old thread. That is the neatest looking install of the relocate kit I've ever seen. It is the simple things like that 90 fitting that make the difference. $12.49 plus $11.50 processing. WTF. Don't care, 100% worth the benefit. Thank you Ian...Jim
