Mine came right off with an impact wrench.. If youre doing it by hand then Id suggest a breaker bar with a "cheater" pipe on it. Oh, if its a cheapy breaker bar be prepaired to snap it off...
Umm.. It might just spin the axle due to the spider gears in the diff.. Have a bud stand on the brakes (hard!!!) while you go at it with the breaker bar/whats left of the kids swing set (wait till they find out... theyre gonna be mad).
Might hafta put the wheel/tire back on and drop the truck back down. I took mine off with the wheel/tire on and the truck not up on jack stands. Came right off no fuss no muss..
Well, the other wheel was still down, so it worked fine.
Stupid thing. I've got the top balljoint drilled out and flopping around now, but all three studs are still stuck in the knuckle. Just went and borrowed a pickle fork from AutoZone...
