you can see the fuel line in the pic. Its too close to the bell housing. Where is it supposed to go?

The drivers side of the transfer case has a mounting spot for the fuel lines . Then the lines run up the drivers side and fasten to the back of the d-side head . The original location on the fuel lines that were held in the t-case mount will have to be moved back 3 inches to make up for the added length of the trans . If you clamped onto the original location , it will hold your lines back to far .

thanks. But its the bellhousing as you can see in the pic I added. It smashes the lines against the cab. Not sure if they are routed right or got bent. DO they go above the housing, to the side or under??

Hey that picture is upside down. In the service manual it shows 1 bolt holding the fuel line along the driver side on the trans near the gov cover at the 10 position. Than the fuel line follow the contour of the trans near the 2nd bolt on the driver side. It than make a 90* bend up and there is a bolt that hold the gas lines on the top bolt on the driver side

Towards the side . If you smash the lines enough to kink them , its time for some 6an lines . If they are close enough to tap the cab or trans at high rpm, the knock sensor will pick it up .

Re: quick answer on 80e install

thanks. I dont know how they got bent and my camera's memory card died with all my demo pics. I wish I had a pic to see what to do. I gues I will try to bend them out of the way.

BTW lifting a trans and TC by yourself under a truck sucks!!! That shit was heavy. I asked 2 guys for help and neither showed up. Guess I now know who my friends are!! You guys are more my friends and I never have seen 95% of you. Thanks.

Rpm .

Already assembled , ask him to make them a foot longer than normal . Matt's were a little tight but went right in . I went the route of making my own . Its much easier to buy them pre-made .

Thanks, I did not see them on his site but I sent mike a e-mail. BTW how much were they so I can hit the streets and hoe myself out for some cash. My funds are tied up right now. Looking at buying another house to flip and sell so cash is tighter then a frogs...well you know, tight.

Yeah I guess he just started doing them . I want to say around 150ish for the feed and return line + fittings , I cant remember the exact number . I read your other post , welcome to my world .

Dont let it sit for more than a month or you really lose enthusiasm to get back going again .

Remember I am not a mechanic. Never was. I am learning as I go. I am good with my hands. (ask wife...LOL) I am an Electrician. I have done bolt-ons before but thats it. Well after 3 shots I feel a bit better. after a few more even better.

Were in the same boat . I was reffering to the being fed up and drinking to calm my nerves stuff you were talking about . Hell , I even quit working on mine for a full year once . Sensimellia works wonders also .

And we favor Jagermiester down here in da south .

The stock lines can work, they do require some tweaking. I usually split some heater hose and put on it also just for safety. It is tight but I have done it on a couple trucks now.

Braided of course works also.

Re: quick answer on 80e install

Those lines got bent pretty bad. They're not even close to where they were supposed to be. Did you disconnect them from the original trans/t-case when you dropped it down? You may bent them downward then. That's the only thing I can think of that would've pulled it to that position.
