putting a new compressor wheel on used turbo.

i have a turbo that had been recentely rebuilt, but had the misfourtune of meeting a piece from the x-over pipe, and being chewed up :rant:

all it needs is a new compressor wheel.......

my question is,...what would happen if i just put a new wheel on it and used it???

could the balance be that far off????

Yes it could very well be. Its not that easy, send it out to Waller and get back something real nice.
Otherwise I know of a cheap turbo that works you can buy.

Dollars to doughnuts, it won't be balanced since it is balanced as an assembly. There's no other way to do it when you're dealing with 130,000 to 140,000 RPMS which is what the stock turbo spins at...

Turbotyphoon69 is selling his 20g. No mods except for afpr, and up here at 6000', he ran a 13.6 @ 98 with it. I am not sure what he is selling it for but I bought mine pretty much new for 650 so I cant imagine held sell it for a whole lot. Ild probably wouldnt take less than 3 for mine. Ild send him a PM and see if you guys can get something worked out. If thats what you want to do of course.

Sry the chevy 1500 you posted a week or so ago..... Im convinced my currently daily driver dodge 1500 is cursed..... january 3rd I get rear ended at 40mph put on a new bed paint the entire thing... Feb. 16th or there abouts it gets hit again like a week after I got it back and now requires ANOTHER bed get it back a week or so ago.... Last night a tree falls on it LOL lands on the front end

Im tired of working on the damn thing and I swear the insurance company is going to arrest me for insurance fraud soon

nice thats some good luck. maybe it is time to get your ass in gear and get the gn or ty running even if it lasts a week at least you have other then the ram to drive.

I rolled the limited outside of the garage today does that count

but Im hoping to get started on the ty this week only been what going on 2.5 years

I know Im going to have it running and by next month the trans will be shot with my luck but atleast I should be able to rebulid that my self
