Put the bed back on...bolts line up, but the bed is slanted.

As the title says. I put the bed back on after installing my fuel pump (syclone). Well all the bolts line up perfect. All the spacers on the passanger side are on, and all the bolts are tight. I get a lean to the back corner of the drivers side. And also if you look between the cabin and the bed there is a V shape not the II shape. Anyone have any ideas before i go wrenching again.

Go wrenching again, you may have something jammed between the bed and the frame, I think the taillight harness can get caught there (?)

You do have to align the bed when you tighten everything up. I usually put the bolts in there by hand, snug 'em up, then do some hip checks to line everything up (align the bed to the body).

Also tell your fatass friend to stop sitting in your truck.

Did you tighten all the bolts evenly? If you did one at a time one corner may have pulled more than the others making it uneven. Does this make any sense?!

My bed did the same thing when I put it back on and I double checked all of the bolts. The bed actually sits farther towards the driver's side ever so slightly. If I look in my rearview mirrors, the passenger side is flush with the cab but the drivers side sticks out about 1/2". Not sure what the problem could be other than my truck possibly being wrecked in the past.

My bed has the exact problem sitting off to one side. It drives me nuts when I pay any attention to it. I am hoping when I put the Walbro in I can fix it. My truck doesn't show any evidence of being wrecked.

Brian's done it too! HA HA! Took me an hour to realize that my tailgate wire connector was pinched at the driver's side rear. Put all the bolts in like 2 turns then walk around the truck and lift the bed off the frame at each mount, checking for the same movement at each one. The one that doesn't lift up or push down has the problem. Don't torque the bolts until you get it aligned unless you want to hear clunks and snaps as you pull into every driveway. Good times.
