I will be sending my exhaust parts out to be coated this week and I want to do the exhaust housing on the turbo. Can I just remove the 6 13mm bolts and pull it apart?

Re: pulling apart turbo

You sure they're not 1/2 inch :D I mean that .3 mm could damage something, mine doesn't use bolts anyway so I'm really not helping your thread here much, am I, I would contact Mike Lee at Race Proven Motors he might know something about that specific turbo.

Here's a link for you

Re: pulling apart turbo

The 1/2 is very tight. The 13mm fits better. I e-mailed mike but I would like an answer tonight so I can drop off the parts tomorow. Guess it will wait. Not like I am going to have my truck together any time soon anyways. :D

Yeah, I'm sure if you have to wait till Tuesday to ship them it might screw up all your plans :rotf:

Make sure to take them somewhere to have them sanded before you put them on, I took the last set to Napa, they sanded them and sand blasted them for like $30-$40 I can't remember exactly.

Re: pulling apart turbo

No you need to have someone belt sand the the face of them where they mate up to the heads so they don't leak. Price sounds right, you doing JET-HOT?

Did I tell you the other day when I called them they said they would send me a bunch of info on their coating and the guy sends me a VHS tape. I just start laughing, thinking what the hell am I supposed to do with this, I haven't owned a VHS player in like 6-7 years :rotf:

Re: pulling apart turbo

if I lived in oregon I would do a ac delete too. Thinking about it. I dont use the AC because my truck would get hot. But with the new setup I hope it wont as much.
