Pulled the bed off my GT

Re: Pulled the bed off my GT

The easiest way to drill out the spot rails is to get a special drill bit, makes the job fast and easy.

Id just either find a clean rust free bed and remove the good rails and use them to fix yours. I had the same problem on mt GT's bed, the rest of the bed is clean, but the cross supports and the rear panel are rusted out bad, but not quite as bad as yours, and my truck spent its whole life in Boston Mass, but was only driven the first couple of years in the winter.

I have searched and searched for a clean bed here in Tx for the last 3 years, and when i do find one they want an arm and a leg for it, so im gonna get one that is clean underneath and all beat to hell on the top and use it for parts.

Although i do like the idea of a fiberglass bed, and would love to know what it weights.

Wow thats some good cancer. You could buy a beater S10 here for $500 and have the whlle friggin thing... no rust in Texas. I have only lived here for 3 years. Before here was NY, Chicago, Toronto, Michigan... Its amazing. Everything I buy here, beaters and all, are rust free.
gotta love it

His posts are everywhere... and hes always so helpful. Free bed? dang
I agree about the free bed.

I just bought a used no rust tailgate from florida yesterday, so I plan to go ahead with fixing the bed I have. It won't ever rust again, that's for sure

I might still buy that bed too, considering I may be saving a fair amout on my motor, but we shall see.
