propshaft boot repair kit, got a question.

ok, i got a boot repair kit, i took the entire shaft apart, i see how everything works, except for the 1 rubber o-ring that was included in the kit. the ring is about 3" in diameter, and im assumming it goes somewhere around where the boot and the shaft meet, but i just wanted to check.

also, im assuming i will have to get this sucker rebalanced when im done, any tips or places i should bring it to? or will any driveshaft place be able to do this.
