Jimmy, why did you box out the recessed lights? Are they the remodel type that are not insulated? I finally got my permit 2/12, something I started back in October. Meetings, variance hearings and weather were not in my favor. Looks killer. Jim . p.s. Typhoon brochure is awesome, too. Thanks

The reason why I boxed out the lights is to have 'air flow'. Those lighting fixtures get real hot and I didn't want to have the insulation right up against it, so I used styrofoam to block it.

Hopefully as it gets warmer, it'll get done!

I have enough clearance to probably put one in, but at this time, I have no plans to put one in. Maybe down the road, who knows.

8/06/04--New Wayne-Dalton Garage Doors w/openers were installed.

8/06/04-- Finished taping Typhoon side and primed first coat. Also, inside look of new Wayne-Dalton Garage doors with Openers. The openers mount above the door, freeing up space on the ceiling for a 'cleaner' look.

8/06/04-- New doors, just another angle.

The openers are from Wayne-Dalton and sell for $349 EACH at Lowe's, but I got mine from eBay for $199 & $189 (2 different sellers). I recommend getting them from Ebay, its cheaper, but you can buy them from Lowe's. Also, you can't buy directly from Wayne-Dalton, they always refer you to a 'dealer'.

8/20/04 80% Complete. Started to 'decorate' the garage. All that is pretty much left is to put down the tile floor, finish out the back door and install bottom cabinets...then some paint touch-ups. You get the idea.

Everything just takes time. Once you finish one project, you think of another to do to fit in with the SyTy theme.

Thanks, I'm trying to not overdo it in terms of colors, I don't want the garage to be too 'busy', it if you know I mean. As for the floor, its going to be white and black, more like a checkered flag. Also, I'm working on putting the Syclone and Typhoon logo 'into' the tile and placing them in front of each truck.

It doesn't seem like you have enough tools in there to maintain a Sy and a Ty though :drinking: j/k, seems like 1/2 of the space in my small garage now is my Sy, and the other half is for the tools to maintain/fix it :drinking:

Oh well, me and the future Mrs. are looking for a new garage.... eerrrr... I mean house now, defintely looking 2 car ++ but it will be split between my Sy and her 3000GT. I hope my garage turns out half as nice as yours is coming along.

Kinda the same thing I would like to do someday,...hopefully soon. LOL I have just about every poster, picture, window sticker, etc.. in stainless steel or black frames just like you do.

Can't wait to see your garage when it's 100% complete.
