When i start my truck it idles from 1000 RPM down to 500 up and down. and my truck almost dies, Plus it sounds like a bad header leak from drivers side. BUT when i take it out and punch it once or twice it get back to normal running. or when it warms up too. it starts to run good. What could it be..?

Mine was doing that until I replaced the plugs/wires/cap. Still get a bit of a rough idle at startup, but it never gets to the point of near stall. I think a little rough idle is to be expected.

Does it start fine or does it tend to struggle to turn over?

Mine does it as well, but I think its just because the idle is to low. And it will stall if I flip on the AC. Or hit the gas kinda quick if its bouncing at a lower rpm when I do it.

Check the plugs first. If they look ok, maybe try looking at your wires and the cap.

Thats cool i just ordered Everything NEW New MSD Distributor, Cap, Rotor, MSD 6A, Taylor Wires. I hope that fixes the problem.
